Straight Kissing [Stanny]

Stiles was doing a project for his Gender & Sexuality class his Junior year of college and Danny offered to help out. They reached out to friends and classmates to expand the pool of people participating.

Stiles brought up the topic of how it was less taboo for two straight women to kiss than it was for two straight guys to kiss. He wanted to break down that skewed vision and shatter that barrier.

So he got fourteen volunteers with an understanding of what they would be doing. He of course made sure to have everyone fill out consent forms just to be safe. Even something as small as a kiss, needed to be consented to.

The day of the shoot arrived and Danny and Stiles oversaw the study. They interviewed each guy that would make up one half of seven couples. Then they paired them up randomly. Then, after all the couples were assigned, the kissing commenced. Everyone did it a bit differently from where they put their hands to how the kiss went from start to finish. Some guys were shy while others dived right in. Some kisses were chaste and others were hungry. Danny and Stiles exchanged a look when two couples lost their shirts but they were smiling and thankfully everyone adhered to the no nudity part of the project.

Afterwards, several of the guys expressed privately to Stiles that they had been denying their attraction to other men and this study helped them be more confident and less afraid of what others might think. A few others said it was all right but they weren't interested in doing it again.

Danny grinned at Stiles after everyone else had left while they remained behind to work on editing the video footage. Stiles didn't see the grin and was startled when Danny kissed his cheek. "I'm proud of you, Bambi. This was very inventive and also takes a stance that is different from the norm. It's not something people really consider."

Stiles bit his lip. "You don't think I'll get a lot of hate or that I pushed these guys to a place they weren't comfortable in, do you?"

Danny shook his head. "No. Some people might disagree with the statement in regards to the taboo on the subject of straight women kissing vs straight men kissing but this is something you're doing for a project because you wanted to do it. Right?"

Stiles nodded. "Yes. Plus we did maybe help some of them be more confident. Sure it's still scary but maybe a bit less scary now."

Danny watched his boyfriend look back at the screen and admired both Stiles's focus and determination. He knew how much this project meant to Stiles. It was his way of bringing attention to certain biases and societal beliefs that brought negative attention to issues unnecessarily. It was Stiles's way of giving encouragement to those who weren't supported like he was and just overall, Stiles wanted people to understand and be informed. It was more than just logging on to watch porn. These were real lives and real issues. Perhaps this form of taboo wasn't as big as others but it was still important.

They finished editing the video a few hours later and Stiles cued it up for a scheduled upload on his website for the day after his presentation in class. All that was left was to wait and see.
