"Hi, guys! Glad to be able to be your temporary leader for this operation.", Theobold gladly exclaims. His inner sweater is greatly complimented by the thick fur of the coat he's wearing on the outside, they can only guess how much weaponry he is carrying under those layers of clothes. "Hi, squad leader!!", Elysia waves back at him, replying with the same enthusiasm the cat boy has, whilst Justice stoically stands there, looking at his two energetic team members. Is it the right choice for Hurlem to send a team of three to reclaim a camp? Maybe, maybe not. However, Theobold's strength is nothing to scoff at.
"Soo.. If I'm not wrong, you're both Vurul's team members, right?", the cat says, marching down the path to the camp. The wind blows in the opposite direction they are walking, as if trying to stop them from going forward. "Yep! I heard you and him and Hurlem are brothers.", Elysia quickly answers. Theobold laughs for a little, "Yeah, we are brothers! Though not related in terms of breeds, we were all raised by the same mother and swore an oath to form our brotherhood. Vurul's always been a quiet one, sometimes I can't help but worry about him. If he ever sounds annoyed by your presence, that's just how he is, he doesn't like people all that much, especially humans. Long story.". After a bit of chatting, the three finally reach the site of the incident.
The camp is now infested with fringewalkers and brutes, all of their work had been destroyed. "Darn.. Well, that's quite a few. But, no worries, I am here! You guys stay back, okay? I'll handle these toothpicks.", Theobold stops and hides behind a collapsed pillar of a building near the camp. "Yes, sir.", Justice nods, crouching behind some cover to remain out of sight. "Hey, this can be a good time to learn from Theobold. Watch him go.", the young man nudges Elsyia's arm to catch her attention, whilst Theobold confidently steps out from behind the pillar. From the palms of the captain's hands, small vortexes of fire appear, then the formless fire moulds itself into a pair of shortswords. In times when the cold of snow and winter is the dominant force, fire magic users become the most sought after people.
Spectated by Justice and Elysia, the cat boy twirls the swords around in his hands, examining the matrix of enemies up ahead, with whom he is about to decimate. The monsters then notices Theobold's presence, alerting each other of the demihuman with growls and screeches. "Well, well, you guys owe Hurlem an apology for ruining his work. I doubt that you can say anything though, so instead, pay up with your blood.", he firmly grips the elemental weapons in his hand and then dashes right into the enemies' lines. Every fringewalker he whizzes by is immediately cut into two, their body melting and folding into itself. The walkers let out dreadful cries of pain as they slowly die to the heat of the flame armaments. "Woa!!", Elysia cheers and applauds, her eyes sparkling in awe as she watches the captain at work while Justice remains silent, making note of his movement and technique, rather impressed as well, but prefers not to show it.
Not too long after the walkers get slaughtered, a shadow casts itself on top of Theobold. The cat looks up, squinting his eyes because of the radiant sun lurking through the winter clouds. He soon realised the incoming danger and so, swiftly evades the pummelling brute. Sharp ice spikes suddenly grow out of the impact zone, making Theobold even more passive and defensive in his movement. The cat boy growls, angrily looking at the bulky monster. "Hope yer' hungry!", Theobold combines the two shortswords into a lance. The captain takes a step back, clumsily charging up a throw as the lance soars into a roaring fire, azure sparks crackling from the blaze. The snow around him melts and soon evaporates, leaving behind a perimeter, as he charges up his attack. With a scoff and a smirk, Theobold then launches the spear right into the brute, putting his entire body weight into the throw, as he promptly falls over and hits the ground face first. Apart from hitting his target with his spear, he also hit his face with the road. The brute's body immediately gets set on fire, slowly burning to crumbs as the brute desperately tries to put the flames out. Elysia can't help but let out a heart laugh at the clumsy captain and is soon joined by Justice with small chuckles.
