When I stepped out of the car I felt a slight breeze. I also felt a bit overdressed for the park but since Xavier was wearing a suit I felt a bit better. We walked to the ice cream shop and ordered our favorites- mine being a scoop of Reese's ice cream and a scoop of birthday cake ice cream while Xavier ordered two scoops of chocolate ice cream. We walked towards a bench that was near a small pond in the park while I teased Xavier for being basic for ordering chocolate ice cream. We just sat in silence for a few minutes, just enjoying our ice cream and the nice weather. I offered Xavier some of my ice cream while he did the same. Laughing, we both took a bite of each other's ice cream.
When we both finished we decided to walk around the park for a bit. We also stopped to take some pictures too. It wasn't too busy so I didn't feel too awkward taking pictures.
"Hey Skylar, I wanted to give you something." Xavier suddenly said when we stopped under a tree. He pulled out a small dark blue box with a black ribbon on it. He handed it to me as he said "Congratulations on graduating".
I opened the box and inside was a beautiful pink and rose gold butterfly necklace.

"This is beautiful Xavier! But it looks expensive, I can't accept this."
"What do you mean? It's a graduation gift, Skylar, you have to take it. Plus, it's from your boyfriend so you have to take it."
"But Xavier-"
"Skylar, please. I saw it and I thought it would look great on you."
"Okay. Thank you, it looks so pretty!" I gave Xavier a hug and thanked him again. We continued to walk along the pond which lead to a small lake until Xavier got a call. He excused himself and began talking to the person on the phone. I stayed at the same spot just waiting for him but I could tell he was angry because I was beginning to hear his voice from where I was seated. From the way it sounded, he was pissed at someone or something. I looked at my phone and saw that it was already 4 pm! As I continued to wait I looked through the pictures I took today and decided on which ones to post. After about 10 minutes or so, I couldn't hear Xavier's voice and looked up to see him walking back to me.
"Hey is everything okay? You sounded really upset." I asked him as he approached me and put his phone in his pocket.
"Stay out of it Skylar! This isn't any of your business!"
"I'm... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to pry. I was just asking."
"Well don't. Just mind your own business. You don't know what's going on."
"Yeah, that's why I asked! I only wanted to know if you were okay because you were shouting and looked really upset." I turned around and took two steps away from Xavier but before I could take another step, I felt his hand wrap around my arm forcing me to turn around.
"Don't. Ever. Walk. Away. From. Me."
"Or what? You'll yell at me again?"
"Look, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you like that. Something happened at work and if it had gotten worse then that restaurant would start going downhill which would impact my dad and Granddad's opinion about me taking over. I shouldn't have taken my frustration out on you, you were just being nice and asking me a simple question. I'm sorry." Xavier said with full sincerity in his eyes.
