Rise From The Ashes (A Pokemon Rewrite)

The Wandering Champion

After taking the ferry that would take them to Mistralton City and stopping for a pit stop at a forest-bound Pokemon Center, our heroes finally made it to Mistralton City, where they would then try to find the airport to get to Lilycove City in the Hoenn region. Though just as Gary ordered the tickets for the flight taking off later that day, the group stopped upon seeing a large festival-like gathering of performers having gathered at the city.

Ash: Wow, it's some kind of festival.

Familiar Voice: Actually, it's called Performer's Square.

Ash and his starters turned around, spotting a familiar olive-haired boy with a large green snake Pokemon approaching them, the serpent's chest adorned with a yellow crest.

Ash: Trip, it's you!

Trip: Hey, Ash. Wasn't expecting to see you in Unova.

Gary: What's Performer's Square?

Trip: It's pretty much a gathering of performers in the center of Mistralton like musicians and stuff.

Cobalt: *to serpent* Hey, aren't you-?

Serpent: Snivy? Yeah, I was. But I go by Servine, now that I'm evolved.

Serena: Ash, is he a friend of your's?

Ash: Kinda. This is Trip, I met him outside the Celadon gym. And that's.... *scans Servine* Never seen that Pokemon before.

Pokedex: Servine, the Grass Snake Pokémon, and the evolved form of Snivy. A Grass type. The leaves on Servine's back and tail are capable of performing photosynthesis, but only while they are clean, so Servine will go to great lengths to stay dirt-free.

Ash: Wow, so this guy is the Snivy we met from before.

Trip: *nods* Mm-hmm.

Gary: Hey, I actually remember you. Back in the Indigo League, we battled in the preliminary round, remember?

Trip: Oh yeah. Dude, that was BS how your Nidoking pretty much one-shotted by Swanna. I'd demand a rematch, but I'm busy.

Green: Busy? Yeah, busy being a lousy bum- OW!

Servine quickly used a vine that grew out of his neck to whip Green in the back of the head.

Servine: Quit being rude, we're waiting for someone important!

Cobalt: Waiting? For who?

By coincidence, Trip was explaining his reason the same time as Servine, whilst Serena was the one to ask Trip who he was waiting for due to him not understanding Cobalt's speech.

Trip: If you really need to know... I'm waiting for Alder.

Gary: *amazed* A...Alder? As in THE Alder?!

Trip: Yep. It's actually one of the reasons behind why I came back home. Plus I want to try the Unova League after I lost in Kanto. Already got 3 badges.

Ash: Nice. But who's Alder?

Trip: *slightly offended* What do you mean "who's Alde"- ....Oh yeah, you're not from around here, I forgot. Sorry, but just to keep it long sotry short, Alder's actually the champion of the entire Unova region.

This caught the others' attention as Cobalt leaned in close with a sparkle in his eye.

Cobalt: *fangirl tone* No way, the champion?!

Serena: You're waiting for the regional champion? Do you know him?

Trip: Kinda. See, Alder's my goal.
