It was now August, which meant that the off season was starting up again. Today was the first day back. Jayson entered TD Garden, going straight to the locker room to find his team mates. "𝗝𝗧" Jaylen said going to dab up Jayson. Jaylen and Jayson were the closest on the team, they were a power duo according to every news source. Jayson had confided in Jaylen with the whole situation between him and Alyssa. Jayson had made it known to Jaylen that if any of his team mates had tried something with her there would problems. Recently, Marcus Smart had found interest in Alyssa. But Jaylen made it known to Marcus that she was talking to somebody, so Marcus backed off.The Boston Celtics had decided to move up their assistant coach, Joe Mazulla to the Head Coach position. And to say that he had overworked them was an understatement. The players didn't know if it was just that they'd been out of the gym so long or if the workouts were just too much. Today wasn't a shoot around, they didn't even go over plays. It was all conditioning and agility.
On the other side of Boston, Alyssa had been preparing for a showcase that would take place in Symphony Hall. Alyssa had been told to put together a dance to the song 𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐋𝐢𝐚𝐫 with another dancer that worked at her studio. Alyssa was arguably one of the best dancers in Boston, she had even made a small name for herself. Growing up, dancing was a big theme in her family. She usually would dance traditional styles from her Dominican background., bachata, merengue, salsa, etc. It wasn't till she reached High school that she really started to take dance seriously. She even earned a full ride scholarship to a school in St Louis.
Now as much as she liked dance, her parents had ruined it for her, specifically her mother. Alyssa's mother, Joanna. Joanna didn't have much growing up as she was raised in Dominican Republic which was a country full of poverty, she tried to steal every oppurtunity from her daughter so once she turned 18 Alyssa moved out to live with Kayla. Joanna would call out every single imperfection about her daughter, calling her fat if she ate too much, telling her she needed to wear makeup to cover up the ugly, and many more things that resulted in Alyssa getting an eating disorder, bullima. Alyssa never understood why her mother hated her so much, she treated her 3 older brothers with tinder love and care, but she treated Alyssa like shit.
Now Alyssa's father, Nelson, had left Alyssa's mother when Alyssa was 16 but he still kept close contact. Nelson was bipolar, one second he could love Alyssa and be spoiling her and the next he would be telling her how ungrateful she was and how much of a whore she would become if she continued to dance.
Dance became an escape for her. It was just her, nobody else could say anything.
"𝟱,𝟲,𝟳,𝟴" Alyssa counted into the song. Her hips moving swiftly with the beat. The song had a very sensual type of feeling, it was something Alyssa was excited to perform. Her turns were on point, and her technique was perfect. Anybody enjoyed Alyssa's dancing, especially the male dancers. They would watch her practice everyday. But Alyssa naturally drew an audience every single time she'd dance. It could be the little girls in the studio, or the instructors. Alyssa knew she was a decent dancer but she didn't know her true worth.
