Chapter 18 ~ Glowing

You felt the guilt creep up on you in your sleep. 3:38 read the clock on Eren's desk. You slip out of his bed and throw your clothes back on. You walk quietly over to the door making sure not to slam it behind you. Going down the stairs you pull your phone and try to call Bert but he is fast asleep with Annie lying next to him in his bed. Pieck, Porco, no one will answer your call this early. You've called everyone except one person. Reiner.

You sigh as you know what this must come to. You have no money for an Uber or a taxi so God forbid if he does not answer his call you are done for and night as well walk back up the stairs and back into Eren's bed. But that is now the last place you want to be.

The phone rings as you stare at Reiner's number on the screen. You don't expect an answer. After the seventh ring you get ready to hang up but as your finger hovers over the button the screen changes and groan 'hello?' answers the phone.

"Oh my god, I'm sorry I did not expect you to answer." You say.

"What do you want?" He says back.

"Look I'm really sorry about earlier it wasn't what you think I promise, but I..." You debate on telling him the truth.

"I got really drunk and I ended up on a random street, I just woke up and I really need a ride and you are the only person who answered." You decide the cover up what you did. It is none of his business.

"Where are you?" He says, you can hear him grabbing his keys.

You can't tell him your on Eren's street. So you pull up Google maps really quick to find the next street over.

"I'm on uhhh... Maria Street and Titan Road." You say.

"Alright, I'm on my way." Reiner says then abruptly hangs up.

You see a pair of highlights light up the street. You sit there with your hands folded across your chest. Mascara was running down your face from the stressful tears you've been crying. He pulls up on the curb next to you. He puts his car in park and steps out.

"Don't try getting up by yourself." He says picking you up by your arms, not knowing you aren't actually drunk. "I'm glad you called for help, I wouldn't want you like this alone."

He sits you down in the passenger then gets back in the car. You sit there silently and don't know what to say. Do you play along with this act or do you tell him the truth? You get lost in the thought until you hear the car stop and Reiner takes the keys out of the ignition. You look outside and see the dorms but it isn't your building.

"Reiner this isn't my building." You say.

"I know." He says, "It's mine."

"But Reiner..." You try to argue.

"No buts, I'm not leaving you alone till I know your okay."

He helps you get out of the car and escorts you to his dorm that he shares with Bert. However, it is empty. He lays you down on his bed and fetches you a bucket for you to throw up in, even though you know you won't.

"Reiner..." You say.

He sits down on the bed next to you and gives you a look of curiosity.

"I'm really sorry for causing you all this trouble tonight." You say.

"Look... just tell me the truth, and be honest with me." He says.

"Honestly..." You hesitate. "He was trying to make moves on me, but I stopped him I swear."

At least that was half true.

"Are you sure? Was that all that was or have you been seeing him?" He asks.

"Why.." You ask back.

"Look I saw you get out of his car, stop lying to me and tell me the truth." Reiner says.

"Reiner I don't have to tell you anything!" You exclaim sitting up. "We are not official!"

"I told you what he did!" Reiner shouts.

"Look." You say, "Eren and I are nothing more than friends and I made that clear but if you don't believe me I'll just go home."

You try to make your way to the door but Reiner grabs your arm.

"Wait..stay..."

Sorry for the long wait I just started my senior year of high school and I had a very busy summer 😭
But I'll try to be more diligent.
I've seen your comments and I hear you guys about making this sorry have two endings.
I'll definitely think about it but I do think I want this story to have a definitive ending but I have an idea that may make everyone happy so just you wait 🤭
As for my other reads, I think I may discontinue my black butler story. I haven't had an motivation or inspiration for it what so ever.
I do want to make a Cat Noir story but I'm not sure if I want it to be Marichat or xReader.
And as always I'll fill in jojos as I go.
