"No one's going to hurt you anymore," Danny told Linda, holding her tightly after dinner.

She held onto him just as tightly, "did you catch the driver?"

"Yes, thanks to you." He kissed her forehead. "She won't ever hurt you again."

"Was she number five like I identified?"

"Yes," Danny said, letting go and turning away from her.

"What's wrong?" She felt suddenly very cold. Was it just in her head or did Danny really make her feel warm like that?

"I suppose it's not going to hurt anything by telling you that the woman who tried to murder you was Maggie Gibson."

"I... I don't know who that is," Linda sat beside him on the bed.

"No, you wouldn't," he sighed. "When you were in the coma, we had some dealings with her. She was sort of a Miss Marple wanna-be. Claimed she was helping the police by talking to the victim. Apparently, she hops from precinct to precinct."

He paused for just a moment, trying to get her and her mind games out of his head. "She seemed to take a liking to me, even though I wanted nothing to do with her.... Only the next time she tried to help, she actually had some helpful evidence."

"So why did she...."

"Drive you off the road?"

"And take a liking to you."

"I don't know why she decided to like me.... But the reason why she drove you off the road was to be with me. Said she loved me."

"That's stupid," were the first words to come from Linda's mouth.

"I know. She loves me, but tries to get rid of my reason for breathing? Doesn't make any sense."

"I'm... I'm your reason for breathing?" Linda repeated, just a little surprised. Wasn't the job his reason for breathing?

"Yes, who else would it be? Linda, you mean so damn much to me, and I never show you or tell you properly. I love you more than I could ever possibly say."

Her response was to kiss him until her lips hurt, then she hugged him tightly. "I'm so glad you chose me as your wife. You're always doubting yourself, but you're a really good husband and father, and brother. You can't always be here with me, but that's because you're out making the world a safer place for me and our boys, and everyone else. I love you, Danny."

"I love you most," he skipped the more, and kissed her once again.

Pretty soon, Maggie, police cases, and car accidents were forgotten as they made love. They were only focused on each other, and that was all that mattered right then.

*******

As the days turned into a week, Linda became angry at Maggie. Before, she didn't really think about the driver and what it meant that she wanted to kill Linda. But now, now she knew who and why, she was furious. Maggie had taken three years of her life away, she wasn't going to let the psychic go free.

"I'll have to testify, right?" Linda asked Danny, a little excitedly.

"Yeah, but it shouldn't be a big deal. It's your word against hers, and the police file. It's cold, but evidence is there."

"Good."

He looked up from his phone, "I thought you'd be nervous about testifying. You're always nervous when I do it."

"I want that witch in jail. She took three years of my life, three years of memories with you and the boys were totally gone! They kind of still are, to be honest... I want her to get what's coming to her. I know that's not very nice of me, but..."

"She deserves more than what the judge will give her." He pauses for a minute, "you know, if this was a murder mystery show, one of us would go out and kill Maggie."

She smiled, "good thing we're not, because I couldn't survive jail."

"I'm glad you're feeling better." He ignored her last statement.

"Me too.... Thank you," Linda sat in his lap.

"For what?"

"For being patient with me while I get better. I know it wasn't easy."

"You were scared, it's understandable." He kissed her cheek and wrapped her arms around her.

She was getting better and better every day. Would things be different? Absolutely. But Linda could handle it, as long as she had Danny by her side.
