Carson Luna Rivera was born August 5th, 1994 to renowned neurosurgeon, Drew Rivera, and fashion designer, Gina Reynolds-Rivera.
She grew up in Beacon Hills, California, a suburban town smack dab between Los Angeles and San Francisco, with her older brother Kyle.
Growing up, she was basically raised by her aunt Sofia and her older brother Kyle, as the two often supported her in a way her parents never did. Kyle bought her Sprinkles, her cat, and Sofia often babysat the two over the years. This continued until Sofia died in Carson's freshman year.
She met Lydia Martin at age 3 and they became best friends ever since, experiencing a rough patch in their friendship in sophomore year of high school, mainly due to power struggle and Lydia's boyfriend, Jackson.
She also met her best friends Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski in 5th grade, soon becoming inseparable. She considered Scott a brother to her, often cheering on his successes.
With Stiles, however, their relationship was very complex, mainly due to Stiles' feelings for the girl and her deeply seated feelings for him as well.
Other friends she acquired over time were Danny Mahealeani, Jackson Whittemore (frenemy), and Tyler Davis.
Material-wise, Carson lived very nicely, growing up in a six bedroom mansion complete with two pools, home gym, and a movie theater.
On her 16th birthday, she was gifted a black Camaro by her father, which she cherished greatly. Unfortunately, Matt trashed this car while in control of the kanima, and it later crashed on the highway. In a final effort to cut ties with her father, Carson returned this car shortly after escaping Eichen House.
Carson's first relationship was with a boy named Lucas, a junior at BHHS, who took advantage of Carson, leading her to be wary of love and attachment.
She later embarked on a series of flings with guys and girls, earning her reputation as the town "slut." Her reputation was further amplified by her "mean girl" attitude, which led people to think she believes she's better than them (she does).
As she approached her 16th birthday, Carson's relationship with her father was extremely rocky, as he often expecting way too much out of her, compared her to her older brother, and ridiculed her for being unintelligent and promiscuous.
By sophomore year, Carson had completely immersed herself in her heartbreaker persona, often appearing uncaring and cold to those who wished to date her.
This came to a head once she started dating Tyler Davis in the Spring semester. He became a regular fling, but she did see herself almost having feelings for him until he revealed himself to be Peter Hale's son and drowned her in the school pool.
This led to her death and transition into becoming a siren, which precedes a very traumatic couple of years for Carson and her friends and family.
