SOFIA REYNOLDS was born in Beacon Hills, California to Ruby Reynolds and Rafael Ortiz on January 4th, 1985.
Her early life was fairly normal, spent alongside her much older sister Gina and best friend Derek Hale, as they maneuvered Beacon Hills.
She became aware of the supernatural super early in life, due to her sister turning into a siren and Derek's werewolf identity, but did not wish to be a part of it until she was forced to.
Her family dynamic was decent, as her mother cared a lot for the girls, but often fell short as she was very much wrapped up in the war between the supernatural creatures and the hunters.
It didn't help that her father was kept away for several years and there was always a bit of a strain between her and Gina, as Gina was very irresponsible, leaving Sofia to clean up her messes, supernatural or otherwise.
During high school, Sofia reaped the benefits of the siren aura, winning homecoming queen several times, as well as being student body president and having a long line of suitors, but did not find much fulfillment in being as popular as she was.
Despite this, she found herself feeling lost after distancing from longtime friend Derek, due to his relationship with Kate Argent. Eventually, the two reconnected, this time forming a romantic relationship.

Prior to her death in 2009, Sofia was basically a surrogate mother to Gina's kids, Kyle and Carson Rivera. A part of her resents her sister for tossing her children onto her, but ultimately cherished the time spent with them.
She was also preparing to go to law school in the next month, while in a four year long relationship with Derek Hale.
If asked, she would consider it her peak in life, as she was happier than ever and still human. People often regarded her as very kind and nurturing, but not afraid of confrontation.

After turning and experiencing Derek's betrayal, Sofia gave up her dreams of being an attorney to become a mercenary.
She abandoned most of her core values in this time, really disregarding the worth of society in favor of what's best for her.
At this point, Sofia's reputation turned red, as most people were afraid of or hated her. She gained this reputation because of the brimming anger within her, essentially taking her hurt out on everyone around her.
