Audrey

I pull out some concealer and foundation from out of my make-up bag, trying to cover the cuts and bruises up slightly.

I dab my beauty blender against my face softly, wincing as the make-up coats my fresh wounds.

I pull out my make-up brush, and squirt a bit of foundation on it. I apply the foundation to the fresh coat of concealer I've just applied, dabbing the brush into the wounds, causing tears to form in my eyes.

Fuck, that girl can throw a punch thats for sure.

Now you may be wondering, why exactly am I trying my best to cover up my bruises before going home, so my parents don't see them?

And quite honestly, I can't give you an answer to that question as I don't know the answer to it myself.

I could have just got the girl kicked out in an instant with a simple snap of my fingers. So why didn't I?

To be honest with you, I don't even know the answer to that.

For whatever reason, a small part of me didn't want Kendall out of the school.

Not because I wanted to see her everyday, of course.

But because I'm not a complete heartless bitch.

Yeah what I said was bitchy, and I deserved a slap or two. I'll admit it.

There was no reason to fuck up my whole face though, that was overreacting.

Honestly I would have thought she'd stop taking the things I say to heart by now.

Clearly I was wrong.

I take slow strides towards my front door, and upon reaching the front door, I place my keys into the lock, messing with it slightly, trying to find the right turn to unlock it, and open the door.

I walk in slowly, dreading the interrogation about to come, due to the fact that I couldn't cover a swollen lip and eyelid with make-up.

'Mom? Dad' I call out, dread consuming me.

Nothing.

Well I guess it must be my lucky day to catch them both at work.

I run up the spiral staircase, and seigg my open my bedroom door, flinging myself atop of the bed and sighing.

If there's one place I love the most, its my bed.

My phone starts harshly vibrating inside my blazer pocket, causing me to pull it out and check whose got the cheek to call me during my relax time.

Ryan the call ID says, in bold white letters.

I sigh, clicking the green answer button.

'Hello?' I sigh down the phone, trying to sound as uninterested as possible to send him the message that I don't want to talk right now.

'Hey Audrey. We're done' He snaps down the phone, his voice spilling with anger.

Wait, what the fuck does he mean we're done.

In my whole 16 years, I've never been broken up with. I'm the one who always breaks things off, it's just the way things work with me.

What the fuck are people going to say about me when they find out that I've been dumped?

God all of the rumours that will spread...

My reputation will be officially ruined.

I need to put a stop to this.

'Ryan baby, what do you mean we're done? What silly things have been crossing your mind?' I try to approach with him, with my most mother-talking-to-child voice to try and reason with this massive man baby.

'Well, maybe its the fact that you were caught snogging with some skank and then coming out of my parents room with her all flustered at my party Audrey!' He doesn't hold his screams back, his tone filled with rage.

Uh oh.

I messed up.

I mean, sure I may have been caught with Chelsea at his party.

But it doesn't count if it's with a girl, right?

You know, gal pals and all that.

He's so overreacting.

'Ryan please lets just talk this-' The line cuts off with a harsh beep, and I throw my phone across the room in frustration.

Well shit.

Suddenly, a notification pings on my home screen, causing me to rush off my bed and pick it up from where it landed on my soft pink carpet, and check to see what Ryan messaged me.

Except it wasn't him.

It was Chelsea.

Chelsea
Hey gorgeous, I really enjoyed myself the other night. Hope we could get to know each other a little more, if you wouldn't mind 😉

Hmm... Well I'm not a lesbian.

But a little secret fun couldn't hurt, right?

Me
Hey Chels, I really enjoyed myself too. Yeah I'd love that xx

Sent.

I rip open a box of cereal, pouring some into the ceramic white bowl in front of me, when suddenly the doorbell brings my action to a halt, causing me to stroll over towards the door and swing it open.

The sight revealed to me baffles me greatly.

Kendall Riles, standing there in joggers and a tight tank top, a backpack swinging low on one of her shoulders.

'You have the cheek to turn up to your shift after what you've done today?'
