Books are like portals. They transport individuals into dimensions that haven't
been discovered.

With every page I flip I go deeper and deeper-, "Aiden we're here." I hear, which makes me look up from my book and outside at the big house.

Compared to my moms home that I lived in up until today, this is definitely huge. I then look to my side at my mom who's wearing a proud smile on her face.

"I can't believe you're moving out." she mumbles staring off. "Mom it's a shared
home." I contemplated this for a long time but I had to move out in order for my mom to be able to get a new job that wouldn't beat her up as much as the late shifts at the hospital did.

Now she won't have to make as much money because she can get a much smaller place. I always tell myself that one day I'll buy her a house but that's so unrealistic I don't believe it.

"Still your uncle and I are very proud of you. It was supposed to be a surprise but Darren slipped 500$ under your blanket." she says.

"What oh my gosh." I gasp, "use it on whatever. Now leave and settle in so I can go to this job interview." she claps her hands.

I roll my eyes though I'm proud she finally got an office job as she desired. She loves anything where she can do costumer service where as I used to be the complete opposite.

I would literally be scared of people and would not stop thinking about what someone said to me even a week after.

Now though I'm just like her for real and I love talking to nice people.

When I'm out of the car with my last few clothes I head up to the door where I press the door bell. Fancy.

It doesn't take too long until a female my height opens the door. She's smiling brightly while looking at me.

"Aiden?" she asks so I nod, "I'm Kylie. Let's get you in here it's hotter than hell outside." she opens the door wider for me.

Following the rules Noah and I had went over when I first got here I take off my shoes wearing my black socks comfortably.

"Most of them are at work I think but Mira and I are attempting to bake a cake for Noah. Feel free to join.. we could really use the help."

With a laugh I go upstairs to take my bag in the room that now belonged to me. This is the first time I have an actual closet and the windows aren't shattered and taped off with a blanket.

I have to say I miss the cozy feeling our family home had already but this luxury is really nice too.

The bathroom literally has heated floors so I can't complain at all. I look underneath my blanket to indeed see a white envelope with money in it.

I immediately have a short chat with my uncle before deciding to join them in the kitchen downstairs.

"Hi." I now greet Mira, a lightskin female, as I take a look at the messy kitchen.
