A/N: Forgive me for not posting this on Monday! I had a difficult time writing this chapter and really didn't know how to go about ending this story. Please enjoy this chapter and let me know what you think.
Sakura found Ino in her family's flower shop. She had spent the day looking for her and wasted no time asking her for help.
"I need to find a way to become immortal so that I can be with Madara," Sakura said in one breath. Ino is caught off guard by the request and accidentally cuts the head of a rose off.
"What do you mean?"
"Madara refuses to accept his love for me because he worries about my mortality," Sakura said. "I need to find a way to become immortal like him."
Ino looks at Sakura with a serious face as though she is looking for an answer in her face. After a moment she nods in understanding and puts down her tools.
"Come with me." Ino waves her hand toward Sakura to follow her. She heads to the back of the store and brings Sakura to what looks like a library in a broom closet. "This is all the history of my family, on sirens."
There are hundreds of books shoved in every corner of the small library. Ino pulls out a worn leather journal and hands it to Sakura.
"This book will tell you how to become a siren."
"Become a siren?" Sakura questions.
"Yes, if you wish to become immortal then the easiest way is to become a siren." Ino looks at Sakura and grabs her hand. "Do you know how sirens come into being?"Sakura shakes her head negatively.
"Sirens are born when a woman in love is drowned. Whether by the man she loves or by herself. As long as you feel a deep love then you will become a siren, but you have to make sure that you truly love Madara." Ino looks at Sakura seriously. "Or else you will just die."
"I truly love him and if dying is the only way to be with him then I will die."
Sakura goes through the book and finds all of her answers. Before she follows through she must wait for midnight. While she is waiting she goes to Ichiraku to eat her last meal, or her last meal as a mortal.
There she finds Naruto and Sasuke. She heads toward them and sits next to Sasuke.
"Hello boys, what are you up to tonight?"
"Sasuke and I are going to go fight after this," Naruto said around the ramen he shoveled into his mouth. Sakura looked at Sasuke with a raised eyebrow.
"It is just sparring." Sasuke sighed as he delicately ate his ramen. Sakura laughed at their differences and ordered a bowl of pork ramen.
"Well, hopefully, that goes well for you two." Sakura ate her ramen while listening to the two argue with each other. She is excited that these are the people she is going to be friends with, no family with, for eternity. She began tearing up at the prospect.
"What's wrong Sakura-chan?" Naruto asked as he ordered his fifth bowl of ramen. Sakura wiped the tears from her eyes and smiled at the boys.
"Tonight, I am going to die," The boys both look at her horrified and she laughs. "Don't worry, I am simply choosing to become a siren so that I could spend my life with Madara." Sasuke gives a huff of annoyance.
"I don't see why you would do something like that for him."
"Sasuke! I love Madara, and not only that but I love you guys too. I could never imagine spending my life without everyone." Sakura began tearing up again. "Everyone here never grows old and yet I found a grey hair yesterday!"
Naruto giggled in his ramen at what she said while Sasuke smirked. She hit Naruto on the back of his head.
"It isn't funny! I will age and end up dying and you would have to watch unable to do anything about it." That shut both of the boys up and they looked thoroughly chastised.
"If this is something you want Sakura then we will stand by you," Sasuke says. Naruto happily nods his head in agreement.
"Thank you. It is getting close to time so I need to head out. Please try to keep this to yourselves until the transformation is finished." Sakura asked as she paid for her ramen. Before she leaves she turns around and looks at the two, memorizing this moment for her memories.
"I'll see you on the other side, boys."
It was finally time to begin the ritual to become a siren. Sakura looked out into the ocean and saw several sirens, including Ino. They were there in order to drag her under and drown her. Ino promised that they would not hesitate and make sure the ritual is completed properly.
Sakura took her clothes off so she could be bare to the world. Almost like when she was first born as a human. Before the clock could strike midnight, Sakura began walking into the water.
When her feet touched the water she heard Madara calling her name. She turned around quickly and looked in horror as he rushed toward her and grabbed her shoulders.
"Are you mad! What do you think you are doing? You could die from this." He shouted at her. Anger was evident on his face but she stayed calm. She palmed his cheek and smiled at him.
"That is what I am hoping for," She softly said to him while he looked at her in confusion. "Ino promises that this will work. I trust Ino with my life."
Madara looked pained as he gripped her waist and buried his face in her neck.
"Please, Sakura do not do this. We can live together like this. I promise after you die a long human life to follow you."
"I refuse. I want eternity with you Madara. It may be selfish, but anything less than that is not acceptable." Sakura pulled his face from her neck and kissed him.
It was magical. She could become addicted to his taste. An eternity full of kisses like this drove her further into the water. Madara followed.
"Please Sakura," Madara begged her. She shook her head at him.
"No, I have made my mind up and this is what I want, so please let me do this."
Madara looked at her with a pained face but nodded his head. She smiled at him with care and turned around toward the water. Before she fully submerged herself she turned to look at him one last time.
"Be sure to let Naruto and Sasuke that they will have a good beating coming their way for telling you." Madara laughed and nodded at her.
Sakura turned back around and allowed herself to sink into the ocean. She was instantly surrounded by all the sirens. Ino swam in front of her and tightly gripped Sakura's shoulders.
With intense strength, Ino began dragging Sakura down. Sakura relaxed at first but when her lungs began to burn for air she started fighting back.
The rest of the sirens descended on Sakura and gripped her from all sides. They all pulled her to the bottom of the ocean and practically laid on her.
Drowning is not fun. It is painful as water fills your lungs and steals your air. The only good thing that comes from drowning is the ability to pass out before death.
As Sakura's world began blurring all she could think about was Madara and the life they would have together. Sakura's last thought before the world went black was that she loved Madara with her entire being.
