Chapter 10

Majesty's POV

I opened the front door and walked into the house. Taking my shoes off at the door and placing my bag next to them.

"In the kitchen" I heard Cora yell out. I took a deep breath before walking into the kitchen. My mom and Cora stood together across the counter. I frowned my face in question as to why they wanted me home so bad.

"I want to talk about yesterday morning" My mother spoke leaning up, placing both hands onto the kitchen counter. I blinked in annoyance. Annoyed because what could she possibly want to talk about. I sat on the wooden stool, waiting for her to start talking. "I'm not understanding why you've been acting disrespectful lately and I want it to stop". I remained silent, swallowing my words. "Since we moved here you've been so quiet and rude...why is that?". I sucked my teeth deciding on if i wanted to speak up or not. "well i don't know Mom. Maybe because I didn't want to move here in the first place and I remember telling you I wanted to stay with Momma but since you only think about yourself and what's better for you, you decided to drag me here". I stood up pushing the stool in. "Sit back down" she said in a sternly tone.

I shook my head no "you can still speak while i'm standing up". I crossed my arms ready for this conversation to be over. "Majesty's that was really hurtful because all I ever do is make decisions for you, I make sure you're living in a comfortable place, I make sure you're safe, I always put you first and for you to stand here saying I always put me first is hurtful". My mom spoke back on a verge of tears . "Shit I wish I made decisions for myself but I don't!"My mom yelled out banging her hand with every word she said.

I wanted to shout back and tell her how much I hate it here but surprisingly I didn't. I stood up straight and watched my mom wipe her eyes as Cora rubbed her back. I walked over and hugged my mom "I just don't want to be here anymore mom". I whispered in her ear she hugged me even tighter and pulled me back holding onto my face "just try please" she spoke in an exhausted tone. I simply replied "okay" before walking up to my room.

I grabbed my phone from my back pocket and face timed my momma. She answered the first ring "hey my baby". The phone was prompted up as as she sat in her office dressing in a grey suit and her hair out. My momma had her own company, that's how she and my mom met.

I smiled at the sound of my momma voice. "Hey" I replied back "i miss you momma". She took a deep breath before replying "i miss you too"she smiled back.

"Can I come visit during my winter break?" I asked eager to go back home. "Definitely" she spoke back fast, "but make sure you're treating your mom right, she called me earlier telling me what's going on". I sighed "i'm trying, I'm just mad". There was a silence before my momma spoke "I understand but still, I have to get back to work but i'll call you once I get home". I nodded my head "okay".

After hanging up the phone I placed it on my bed, Deciding on watching Abbott Elementary before I have to get up and get ready. I texted Soriah letting her know I was still picking her up.

There's something about Soriah that I enjoy. Whenever I'm around her I feel so nervous but so warm and calm at the same time. I only force those feelings down because I've only know her for a couple of months. Plus she has a boyfriend who isn't shit. I enjoying her company and hearing her smooth voice.

It sucks developing crushes for people who you know for sure won't ever look at you the same way you look at them. I'd rather keep all my feelings to myself to have her around as a friend, than not being able to speak to her.

As time went by I checked my phone realizing it was time to get ready. I realized that most of time I sat in my bed I barely paid attention to the show I was watching, just stuck on my thoughts letting them get the best of me.

I wasn't sure on what to wear, this being my first time to ever go out like this. Back at home I just chilled with my friends or occasionally went to a small café with them. After scrolling through Pinterest. I decided to wear my black baggy cargo pants and a plain black shirt. Throwing on my black and white dunks.

Soriah texted me letting me know she was ready. As I received that text my stomach turned making it felt like I was about to throw up everything I ate today. I grabbed my phone, charger and earpods, stuffing them into my bag before running downstairs.

"In a hurry?" I jumped at my moms question. I didn't tell her I was going out. Only because of what happened once I got home. I stood by the front, hand on the doorknob. "uh yeah..i'm going out with Soriah". My mom nodded her head slowly. I could tell she wanted to say something but yet fought against it.

"okay well be safe" she walked over placing a kiss on my forehead before walking off. I stood there now debating if I should even go. My mom didn't even ask where I was going, making me wonder if I should. Deciding on leaving I hopped into my car nervous from how my mom and acted and now going to get Soriah.

Soriah only lived 20 minutes away and during those 20 minutes my hands began to sweat with each second. I pulled in front of her house letting her know I was outside, but right after I sent the text I got out walking towards her door. I'm not even sure as to why I did but my legs moved on their own.

Soriah opened the door and we both gasped at each other outfits. She wore the same thing I did expect it was brown and her shirt was a crop top. She laughed as she closed the door behind her. "mmm..seems like someone a copy cat". She teased walking ahead of me. "If anything you copied me, giving that I was ready before you". I spoke back opening the car door for her.

Soriah got into my car positioning herself. "How would you know that?" she questioned with a teasing tone. "I have my ways". I shrugged playfully before closing the car door. Before I entered the car I shook my nerves off, wanting to put my feelings aside and have fun
