Soriah
It was the next day and my head pounding woke me up. All night I had dreams about Majesty.
I kept on tossing and turning, internal yelling at myself for not saying anything. What would I have even said to her.
"Hey it's me...the friend from high school who ghosted you after that one night"I looked around the hotel room I was staying in, just ready to go home but knowing I had to stay for Jades wedding made me think even more.
A knock at my door caused me to jump out of bed rushing to the door. "Coming!" I yelled so the knocking could stop. I opened the door to see Jade standing in front of me with tears in her eyes. I sighed pushing both my feelings and the door aside letting her walk in.
"I slept with someone else last night" Jade spoke catching me by surprise. All I could do was stare at her...shocked. I must have been like that for a minute because after a while she spoke "please say something, your silence isn't helping"
I stuttered "With-with who?" I asked with curiosity. "My best friend" I chuckled that sentence sounding all too familiar. "Did you mean to?" I asked looking Jade in her teary eyes. She gave me a sad smile while slowing nodding her head. "I did" was all she said with a shaky voice.
I breathed in "Jade, you are a smart and beautiful person...if getting married to your soon to be husband isn't what you want, the first step is to tell him" he pulled her into a hug "and don't shut your best friend out" I rubbed her back silently wishing I would've have done that.
Should've, Could've, Would've
I pulled back wiping at her eyes. Feeling such sadness for both of us. I knew Jade for a long time. She's one to go after something and always tells others to be honest with themselves before anything else. Hopefully she takes her own advice.
"If it makes you feel any better I saw one of my old closest friends from high school" Jade looked at me "How would that make me feel better?" she asked with a confusion clear in her tone. "I slept with her and ghosted her for the rest of the school year" I spoke with disappointment.
She looked at me "Do you ever wish things went differently?" I shook my head rapidly "Oh definitely, but life happens" I shrugged "Life has a funny way of showing and telling you things, it's all about catching on". I took her hands in mine "Take this as a sign" was all I could tell her. Once again, secretly telling myself the same thing.
Jade took a deep breath and got up "I'll let you know how it goes" I nodded my head "good luck" was all I could say.
———After Jade left my room I sat and thought for a while. Finally gathering the courage to get up and go get some air. Hoping that'll help clear my head.
So here I am walking down some busy street, stumbling across a nice and cozy cafe. Ordering myself an iced coffee before grabbing a seat. I could see everything happening around me.
Out of curiosity I opened up instagram and found Majesty page, She posted on her story and I pondered on the thought of watching it.
Would it be weird if I did?
We both saw each other so she would know why I looked at her story.
Does she hate me?
Would she want to talk?
What if she forgot curses me out?
All of these thoughts consumed my mind. "Fuck" I whispered to myself. Placing my head inside my hands, tears quickly escaped my eyes. All of my emotions falling finally coming out.
I gather myself quickly harshly wiping my eyes I grabbed my coffee and phone trying to hurry out of this cafe and run back to my hotel.
With airpods in my ears, my music at full volume, I guess I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings enough, because the next thing I knew I was on the ground.
"I'm so sorry" I hurried out quickly before meeting eyes with her.
"Majesty?"
