Chapter 5: Act Of Love

Welcome to the fifth chapter! Enjoy! Similar to Chapter 3, this chapter rewinds back to the end of the last chapter.

SERENA'S POV - Current Location, Mauville City Hotel

It was a nice night for everyone in the room, except for Bonnie, who was not having a fun time because she was camping in the toilet for the long 2 hours the movie was. I could not stop thinking about Ash saving me from falling. Was that an act of love? I hope it was. I think back to the conversation that I had with Bonnie back in the corridor. 

'So... Are we going to pretend that never happened?', Bonnie tells me. 'That was an act of love, obviously. A person that you met like an hour ago does not save you from falling 10 floors! He likes you!', Bonnie adds. 'Well, I don't know... You would do the same!', I say. 'Uhhhhh, anyways that's not the point. The point is that he saved you. If he did not save you, you would not be here.', Bonnie says. 

Does he like me? I like him. I don't know about what he feels. I know what I feel though. Maybe if I tried to warm up to him a bit, I can see his reactions. If he gets grossed out, then that's a red flag. If he doesn't stop it, it MIGHT mean he has feelings. I sound so crazy thinking about this, but it's the only way. Talking about it is uncomfortable. When I make it back to Kalos, I am definitely registering in a mental hospital.

While Clemont sets the movie up, Ash scurries through what Clemont bought and finds a bag of popcorn, and when he opened it up, the smell of buttery goodness wafted through the air. It even caused my own Sylveon to pop out of my PokeBall and run over to the popcorn. Pikachu also woke up and joined Sylveon as they both got a few and ran straight into the bathroom. I wondered for a second what they were doing, but I decided I did not want my mind to wander too far. The movie starts and I snuggle next to Ash, to see how he would react. He seemed to shrug it off, but I do catch him a glancing at me. I kept knocking over the popcorn bowl, which kinda angered Ash and at the end, an unexpected jump scare got me to bury my face in his chest. He looked shocked, but also relaxed? He is sending me these weird signs and expressions. 

If anyone knew what was going on in my head, they would think I was nuts. I am nuts. I have final trick up my sleeve and I know it may sound gross, but I am ready! I feel like just talking to him might have sounded easier now. I 'fall asleep' in my sleeping bag until Ash falls asleep. I quickly snuggle inside his bed and sleep right next to him, waiting for a reaction. After 1 hour, he finally woke up and noticed me. I was praying, praying and praying that he would not scream and shove me off. He didn't. He just slept again. Only holding my hand while sleeping this time and mouthing my name is his sleep.
