Let it go

60 12 18

Quietly she sits by the sea shore

Keeping her precious pearls secure

The wind caresses her wet cheeks

She tightens her fist and speaks

Now it is time to let you go

With the waves of sea towards your destiny flow

Opening her fist and loosening her grip

She stares at the sky as the shiny spheres slip

Like a statue she sits, sees them moving away

And her eyes stay still, night replaces day

She's there, motionless and hurt

Her clothes are wet, covered with dirt

But she doesn't care about it all

She picks up some mud and makes a ball

Throws it away fills her fist with sand

The sand leaves her hand, joining its land

And then she understands the fact

Everything has a destiny of its own, a signed pact

No one can forcefully keep things intact

It is the choice of things, in fact

To decide their happiness, to make their choice

To understand life, to raise their voice

To prioritize things, to say no

So it is better to keep the flow

And let them go, when they decide to go

She cleans her clothes and wipes her eyes

Tries to get up and act a little wise

Her bare feet kiss the cool water, one last time

As she gathers up the courage, sings a rhyme

She decides to let go, she promises to smile

She promises to love her pearls, gone away many miles.
