Oh how badly I wish to stop time, sometimes
I want to go back and sing nursery rhymes
When I was a kid with rosy red cheeks
When I danced, studied and played hide and seek
Wore mum’s heels and ran all over the house
I watched cartoons, loved mickey mouse
How I frowned when my cousins irritated me
Tickling my feet, hiding my pony
And how I studied in my “Urdu” class at school
Scribbling friends’ books, but never breaking rules
Sitting in the school ground, sharing lunch
Snatching french fries, a handful, a bunch
Listening the lecture half awake, half asleep
But the words of teachers in safe lockers keep
How proud I felt being chosen class representative
How a drew and wrote, loved being creative
The way I ran when I entered the parks
Feeling of lovely life made my eyes spark
Oh how badly I wish to stop time, sometimes
To enjoy the unconditional love, the blissful times
