Hermione

"You seriously want to go on this quest?" the horse-man, Chiron, asked.

The truth was, Hermione didn't really want to go on this quest. After seven years of fighting Voldemort, she didn't really want to do it again. She remembered the first time they went to stop the Dark Lord. She was 12 years old - Harry was 11 - and they thought Snape was trying to bring Voldemort back using the philosopher's stone. At the time, it seemed terrifying. Now, she would give almost everything to have to face that again, rather than going on an almost certainly fatal quest to fight not just Voldemort, but the other two villains, Luke and Fintan.

"Yes," Percy said firmly, "Well, no. But we have no choice."

"Technically, you do," Chiron pointed out, "The wizards and elves have to, because that's what the prophecy stated. But they didn't specify which demigods."

"It's always us," Annabeth said, "Why would this time be any different? We have the most experience with quests. It just makes sense."

Chiron sighs, "Okay. I'm to going to stop you. But be careful, okay?"

"Sure," Percy said, "We're going on a super deadly quest, and we are going to be careful."

The centaur rolled his eyes, "You know what I mean. Go grab some weapons. You need to get as much of a head start on this villains as you can."

Percy pulled out his pen, "Got mine."

"A pen?" Dex asked, "A pen?"

Percy uncapped the lid, and to Hermione's shock, it expanded and turned into a sword.

"That is sick!" Keefe exclaimed.

"Thanks, man."

"Um, just so you know, the only one of us," Hermione gestured to herself, Ron and Harry, "That's knows how to use a sword is Harry."

"Excuse me, I would be amazing with a sword," Ron protested.

"You can barely hold a knife without cutting yourself," she argued.

"That's okay," Annabeth said, "We have bows and arrows too. And you can use a sword?" she asked Harry.

"Well, I haven't really used it since I was 12, and that was against a giant snake," he explained, "But yeah, I guess so."

"And you guys?" Percy asked the elves.

"Do you have any goblin throwing stars?" Sophie asked.

"Sorry, what?"

"Doesn't matter," she said, "Umm, we learnt how to fight with daggers."

"That will do," Percy said.

"And just to be clear," Ron said, "You don't have any wands."

"Uh, no," Annabeth replied, "We don't really use... wands that often."

"Okay."

The all fell silent, each lost in their own thoughts. Hermione's mind was going 100 miles a minute. She had so many questions and worries.

Where is this part of the world they have to go to?

How are they meant to get through all these protections?

And most importantly:

How are they meant to all survive?

Once all of them had grabbed their weapons, Percy called for his pegasus, who was there within minutes.

"Hey, Blackjack," he said, "Do you think you're up for a ride?"

Blackjack eyed all of them, as tilted his head, as if to say, 'This many?'

"You just have to carry a carriage," Percy explained, pointing to the carriage that the camp Hephaestus kids had built at an incredible speed.

Blackjack nodded and whinnied.

"So, does anybody know where we have to actually go?" Fitz asked.

"No," everyone responded.

"Well, this is convenient," Biana said.

"Well, we just have to think," Ron said, "And by we, I mean you two," he pointed to Percy and Annabeth, "Where is the deepest, darkest, most evilest place you have been? Where is somewhere nobody would go, even to find such a powerful object? There can't be many."

Annabeth turned pale, "There isn't," she whispered, "I can only think of one."

"You're not thinking of..." Percy said vaguely, "Oh my Gods, not there. Anywhere but there."

"I don't think we have a choice."

Hermione was beginning to feel impatient, "You know, you could clue as in any minute now."

"S-sorry," Annabeth stuttered.

She looked absolutely terrified, which surprised Hermione. Annabeth always seemed like nothing could scare her.

"Where is this place we are going?" Keefe pressed, "Come on, you can't leave us is suspense like this."

"It's just, we've been to this place before," Percy said. He looked pretty scared too, "And it is not nice. Not nice at all."

"Where. Is. It?" Hermione repeated.

Percy and Annabeth shared a look, before saying in perfect unison, "Tartarus."
