Fitz
Fitz was the first to get up after their break. He was agitated and was worried that another creature would come around.
"C'mon guys," he said. "We have to keep going."
Reluctantly, the others got up. Keefe offered Sophie his hand, which she gratefully took, giving him a smile. Fitz's eyes flashed with jealousy.
The group started again on their adventure, now with weapons drawn at all times. They had no idea what they were to face and didn't want to find out when their weapons were tucked safely into their pockets.
Fitz snuck around the back and found his sister on the other side. As much as he knew that Biana was more than strong enough, he was her brother. He wanted to make sure she was okay.
"Biana," Fitz said quietly, making her jump.
"Fitz, don't do that down here!" she said. "This place is terrifying."
"Sorry," he said. "Just wanted to check in."
"I'm fine," Biana said. "Well, as fine as you can be in literal hell."
"Great," Fitz said.
"What about you?"
Fitz shrugged. "What you said. Fine as I can be."
Biana nodded her head to Sophie and Keefe, where they were chatting away.
"What about them?" she asked. "Are you fine with them?"
"Seriously?" Fitz replied. "You have to bring it up now."
"Yes, because if you don't tell someone, you're going to spend the whole time getting snappy at people for things you can't control. Like this."
Fitz sighed. He knew his sister was right, and that not telling anyone how he felt would just make it worse.
"Okay, I can't say I love it," Fitz admitted. "But Keefe is my best mate. If that's what they want..."
Biana patted his shoulder reassuringly. "You know they are great for each other."
"Yeah, I know."
He did know. But he didn't have to like it.Half an hour later, they were fortunate enough not to have encountered anything. Everyone knew that the luck wouldn't last, but they were enjoying it while they could. Unfortunately for them, their luck had just ended.
Out of the corner of his eye, Fitz saw something move.
"Uh, what was that," he asked.
"What?" Percy replied.
He saw it again. "That!"
"What?!"
Suddenly, a tall creature with a one twisted horn, the stump of another one, and fur rised above them, a malicious look in its eye. It was staring directly at none other than Percy Jackson. And he seemed to know exactly what it was.
"THAT!" Fitz yelled.
"That... that's the Minotaur."
"The what now?" Ron asked.
"Minotaur. Greek mythology creature. And, conveniently, it's the same one I killed years ago. So it hates me." Percy explained.
"Great," Keefe said. "That's just brilliant."
"It's okay, Percy has done it before, so we should be fine, right?" Sophie said.
"Well, I was very lucky then, but we have no choice but to try." Percy replied.
"Try" Fitz repeated.
The word felt horrible on his tongue. He was sick of trying. Back at home, the Black Swan had been trying for years and years with no luck. But right now, it was between trying and death.
Fitz was going to take the first option.Okay, so it's been months since I last published, and I'm really sorry. My account logged me out and wouldn't let me get back in, and when I coul finally get back in on a separate device, it wouldn't save my work. But I finally got there! It's not very long, but I wanted to get it our before thr new year. It may be a while before I get the next chapter out because of Christmas and holidays, but hopefully you guys enjoy this part!
