My alarm went off at 5am. I picked up my bag and put my notebook, pens and yellow pad in, before I went to the bathroom to take a bath. Afterwards, I went to my parents' room and they're still not home. So, I went to the kitchen to make myself some breakfast but,

"Mornin' Katie!" Mikey drinking some coffee winkin at me.

"What the hell are you doing here? How the-- how did you get in?" I asked him, embarrassed af 'cuz I'm only wearing my bathrobe.

"You're parents went to have a vacation. They told me last night when I went to the bar." He stood up and pulled me closer to the table and let me sit. "Your mom gave me the key, she told me to watch over you since we are going to the same school."

Same school? What?! We? What?!

"I made you breakfast too! Come on Kate! Can't you just appreciate what I'm doin' right now?"

"I'm sorry Mikey but, I expected I'm gonna be independent starting this year since I'm a college student now."

"I know. Me too. I didn't expect that I have to take care of my best friend. Like wth?" He sighed. He started playing with his hair and said, "It's not that I don't want to be with you tho. Anyways, your parents told me they'll be gone for a couple of months."

"I don't get it. They don't tell me anything."

"Awww, Katie. They love you more than you know it! Maybe they just want you to have a happy and peaceful life without getting worried about 'em." He pats my head as he puts the plate in front of me. "Just eat your breakfast. I ate mine already. I'll just take a bath and get ready too."

He left afterwards. Gosh! I can't process what's happening right now in my head. I looked down my plate and--

"Pffft! Hahahaha!" He drew a freaking turtle with a mask using ketchup for sakes. If somebody else saw this they wouldn't know what the hell this is, since he sucks at drawing.

I ate my breakfast thinking if I'll meet some friends on college. Thinking where the hell are my parents. Why didn't they tell me.
----
"Kate! We're gonna be late!" Mikey shouted from downstairs.

"Alright, alright already! Jeez!" I'm still fixing my hair. Should I ponytail it or nah? Never mind. I looked at the mirror. And I'm gloomy as always. Wearing my red and black flannel and ripped black skinny jeans and my favorite chucks.

"Kate! Hurry--up." I saw Mikey on the doorway and "Wow! Kate! Did you read my mind?" He's wearing the same style as me.

"Michael don't be such a wuss. We just have the same taste that's all."

"Yeah. You're right. Hahaha! Anyways get yo bag and let's go to school!"

"Wow you love school don't you Mikey? Ugh. I'm not even sure if I'll meet some new friends."

"You'll meet someone, don't worry. But I'm still better than them tho! Since I'm your best friend!" He always say the right things to comfort me. "Let's go? We're riding on mah man!"

"Show off."
