Bill led the way as they headed up some stairs. Caleb was the last one in line to exit. Before he could reach the doorframe Joel stopped his movement in front of him. He slightly turned his body as he looked over his shoulder at Caleb.

"That little stunt you pulled back there" Joel's eyes stared at him with stern "Never let it happen again"

Self consciousness consumed him as he followed Joel and the others. He wanted to help, he really did, but he couldn't. Albeit, it felt as if he wasn't allowed to use that as a reason.

"So, what kind of trouble are you in?" Bill asked "where the hell's Tess?"

"It's just a simple drop off" Joel told him

"What are you deliverin'?" He let out a derisive chuckle. "those brats?"

"Hahaha" Ellie mocked "Fuck you too"

"I hope you know what you're doing" Bill said

Joel, seemingly not phased by Bill's comments, changes the topic. "Where we goin' Bill?" He asked.

"My other safehouse." Bill answered "more of an armory though" he continued "if we're going to gather the supplies I need then we're gonna need more guns."

"Alright then"

Bill led them through various damaged buildings until they approached a set of stairs heading downward into a store's kitchen.

"You know, you didn't answer my question." Bill said in an attempt to pry. "About Tess"

"She's busy" Joel lied

"Sure she is"

Outside the store sat multiple abandoned cars. The church they were aiming for now across the street sitting behind a building.

They were all dismayed at the sound of runners and clickers suddenly charging them. Caleb followed Ellie to a safe place where he watched Joel and Bill successfully fight them off.

"Ellie. Caleb." Joel called for them "Come on out now"

Before Ellie and Caleb could regroup with Bill and Joel, Ellie called to him. "Hey Caleb?"

Caleb turned towards her, raising his eyebrows "hm?"

She glanced at Joel and Bill "what did Joel say to you when you were downstairs?"

Joel's words crossed his mind after she asked her question. Never let it happen again.

"I-"

"Would you two hurry the hell up before more of those infected show up?" Bill called for them this time.

Caleb and Ellie went up some stairs that was behind the gate. Joel searched the shed beside it before rejoining them at the top of the stairs.

"You picked a hell of a place to hole up, didn't ya'? Joel asked Bill

"As bad as those things are, at least they're predictable" Bill responded "it's the normal people that scare me. You of all people should know that."

"What does that mean?" Ellie asked

"Nothin'" Joel told her

Bill opened the doors to a cellar that sat behind the church, "alright, down here" he headed down a small couple of steps. Caleb was behind him, but he heard Ellie stop her walking to talk with Joel.

"What did you say to Caleb?" She asked

Joel let out a weary sigh "Ellie." He said "what are you talking about?"

"At the stairs, what did you say to him?"

"None of your business Ellie"

"Bullshit." She said "you don't know what he's been through Joel."
