I was on fire. My hands were burning. I saw the flames dancing on them, but I didn't feel anything. The fire didn't hurt me, but I was still panicking. I wanted it to stop.
"Look at me," Elias calmly said. I didn't do it, not because I didn't want to obey, but because I simply couldn't think in that moment. "I told you to look at me," he said, taking quick steps towards me and grabbing my hands in his. I saw his skin starting to burn, and I got scared that I might hurt him too.
I looked into Elias' eyes. In their Gray color, I saw the flames.
Put it out. Make it stop. You can.
Something spoke in my head. I listened to that voice and calmed down. The fire stopped. Elias' hands had small burns that quickly vanished. How was that possible? I had just burned his hands. He was staring at me, unmoving. When I fully realized what was happening, I released his hands and slowly stepped back in shock. I bumped into Rowan's massive body and let out a slight scream. Then I ran towards the entrance door with all my might. I had to escape from here.
I reached the handle and pulled it. The door opened, and there stood Elias. How was that possible? He was sitting in the living room just a moment ago, and now he's here.
"A pathetic attempt to escape, Aurien," he said. He grabbed my elbow and pulled me back into the living room. Even if I wanted to, it would be difficult to escape. They were three, and I was one. Zara stood up and came towards me. I took a step back out of fear. She noticed it and stopped. She looked so sad.
"Aurien, I will explain everything to you. Just sit down and listen to me," she said.
"What are you going to explain, for God's sake, what? I'm a monster. I almost killed someone. What's happening, Zara? What?" I started sobbing and was in complete panic.
"Calm down now," Elias said behind me. "Sit and listen to what she has to say. Then you'll make a decision that depends solely on you."

I think my whole life up until now has been a mockery. A joke. Throughout all these years, I have suffered so much, and the reason behind that suffering wasn't even significant. It wasn't even two people. No, the mistake wasn't just on two individuals, but there were so many fools involved.
Zara sat with me for several hours and told me everything. Everything about me. It was difficult, and she didn't know where to start. It was heavy because she didn't want to hide it from me, but it had been necessary for my own good.
That's what she said.
It all started in a very ancient continent called Arcania. Millions of years ago, it existed on the human map as well, but many things happened, and people wanted magic to remain buried in the past and never be mentioned as something real. That's why they left only myths and legends about it. Arcania was the eighth continent on the planet. It was all those seventy percent of water that we see on geographical maps today. People didn't like that such a large percentage of the Earth belonged to magical creatures, so they started killing them one by one. It disrupted the peace on Earth. However, after that, Arcania and those who ruled it decided to create their own dimension. One day, they simply vanished from Earth, and no one has ever seen them again. That made people happier once magic left the Earth. Arcania created its own dimension, and it reached considerable expanses.
