It was half passed midnight and yet you wondered where Jing Yuan could have possibly gone.
He had a history of coming home late, but today it was far past it's limits, yet you didn't give up. You waited knowing very well that he wouldn't bother to eat unless you told him to.
He always prioritised his work over his health, which you completely disapproved of.
A sigh escaped your lips as a disappointed frown took over your expression. It was getting late and you were getting sleepy. The idea of just heading to bed was quite enchanting, but some part of you kept reminding you that Jing Yuan wouldn't get to eat his meal that you took the trouble to cook.
Just as another sigh escaped your lips the doors burst open and in entered Jing Yuan, who seemed tired as ever.
As much as you wanted to scold him for being late for, for not realising that his health was more important, not a single word left your mouth as you noticed how exerted he was.
In a moment all your annoyance disappeared and you were by his side asking him what was wrong and why he looked so pale and tired.
How it hurt you to see him like this, but then afterall, the work of the general wasn't something too easy to handle.
"Why didn't you head to sleep love?" He mumbled softly, running his fingers through your hair.
"You wouldn't have eaten dinner in that case." You replied, sighing against his chest as he pulled you in closer.
"Dinner? Y/n love, I'm a little too exhausted to even think about dinner, could we-"
Before even giving him a chance to finish his sentence you cut him off, knowing very well what he intended to do.
"No Jing Yuan, you must eat, or must I give you a lecture about your health again?" You asked him, looking up at his perfectly sculpted face to find even a little bit of remorse.
"If you insist my love. I could never truly say no to you."
