Feeling Unbearably Nervous

Yeah, I just left you on a cliff hanger, and yeah I hid an acrostic cypher in the title. But what are you going to do about it. I am the writer, and I have supiriority!

Do I hear a villain origin story, Wade? Just get back to writing, I'm about to die.

Fine. But only for you, babe. Oh, and there's a brief mention of private parts in the bolded quotation marks.

As the man got closer Peter noticed some smaller details. The oily texture of his hair, the layer of gunk covering his skin, the unnaturally long wolfish canine teeth, and the unnaturally buff body-type of the Wolverine. He kept running until he got within five metres of Peter, who then realized the man was not going to stop.

"GET DOWN," Peter yelled at the top of his lungs, before the man burst through the window.

The entire room of people began to run out of the door, except for the professor, Peter, Pip, and Quinn who Pip was dragging.

"Quick!" Pip commanded, being one of two people to have experience leading a team. Not including Peter who was part of a group with no discernible leader. "We need to protect The Professor."

The three of them set up a triangular force field around Xavier. "Chaaarrrgggeee!" Quinn yelled, before Peter, Quinn, and Pip ran at the man, forcing him into the yard.

"This man," the professor called over the sound of them fighting, "his name is Sabretooth. He can heal from any damage you can make. You must capture him!" Then the professor left.

The group took account of Xavier's notice, and Quinn took a particular notice. They leapt up onto the back of Sabretooth, and grabbed his neck. Less than a second later, Quinn began to change. They began to become larger, more muscular, and their nails began to grow and sharpen into claws. Sabretooth clawed away a chunk of Quinn's side, and it regenerated itself. They clawed away at each other, until Pip had the brilliant idea to grow to about three metres and attempt to crush him.

Pip shrunk back down, although only to about a metre and a half, to observe the crushed bodies of Quinn and Sabretooth. Peter turned himself into a CaptainAmerica-esque  version of himself, to mask his spider strength as he grabbed the crushed man. Pip took hold of Quinn who was  slowly shrinking back to their self, yet still healing. By the time they'd gotten to the infirmary Pip was panting, and barely able to carry Quinn.

"How are you still ok Pete? I can barely keep upright, and Quinn isn't exactly as bulky as Sabretooth here, *heh*," Pip gasped.

"Umm, did you not notice how I look like Steve Rogers. This isn't just for show," Peter laughed, although it sort of was. "And, it's just Peter. I hate that nickname."

"Any reason?"

"Not really, it just bugs me."

They deliver the injured to the group of doctors and mutants with medical abilities. Sabretooth and Quinn will be better off in their hands. Both the boys reverted to their regular forms and left the  infirmary.

"Oh, and is there anything else you want me to know? You can tell me whatever. I've experienced a lot more than most people give me credit for. My best friend, Elijah's entire family hated mutants. It made puberty at least a little awkward." Pip reassured.

There was a pause, and then, "I'm transgender." Peter blurted out before realizing why. "This isn't technically my original form."

"That's cool, I guess. I don't know."

"You aren't mad?"

"No, why would I be."

Peter grew agitated at the memory, shifting from himself, to the genetic mashup of Tony Stark and Loki, to a young adult form of uncle Ben he'd known only from memory, and then back to himself again.

"What's wrong, I don't have to be an empath to know something is wrong. After Elijah stopped talking to me, I spent a week in my room shifting between this, about three meters, and twenty centimetres. I would almost break the ceiling one second, and then able to go through the gap in the door the next."

""Back in high school I knew this jerk, Flash Thompson. Back in freshman year, after I'd just gotten my first binder, which is kind of like a bra that makes your chest flat, I decided that I needed a packer, which is like a fake penis. Anyways, my packer wasn't secured properly, and it fell out of my pants. Of course that was hilarious, but not the kind you should share with a transphobe. For the next four years, I was 'Penis Parker'. But that wasn't the worst thing he'd done. I was physically beaten up, and I lost all of my friends. All of them but Ned Leeds, he was amazing.""

"Peter, you are amazing. You put up with all of this, your dad being Loki-"

"Hey, Loki is a very nice person, and an even better adoptive father. Yes, I'm adopted. No Loki was not my biological parents first choice. No, my parents didn't even know him."

"I Didn't mean it like that, it's just, prejudice. It's an issue. If you like someone, I'm sure they are an amazing person at heart."

"Umm, thanks, I guess. Wait, I'm going home this weekend. I've got a bunch of stuff to deal with. If you don't have any plans, maybe you could come back with me?"

"Sounds like a plan."

Pip knew something was up with Peter, on top of the nerves of making plans with someone you barely know. He had some sort of protective Barrier keeping Pip from getting anything past the basic level empathy. He was left wondering whether Peter had some sort of subconscious psychic abilities.

Meanwhile, Peter was wondering why his spider sense was going off. It had been hypersensitive since the transfusion. This however, stuck Peter in a massive migraine. He stuck his palms over his ears, and fell to the ground.

"Are you ok? Peter?" Pip exclaimed.

"Yep," Peter groaned through clenched teeth, "headache. They come and go, it's pretty much better now."

"Ok, weird question, are you a psychic?"

"What? I don't think so. I've seen other people's flashbacks before, so maybe, yeah, I guess."

"Oh, cool. It's just, not to sound perverted or anything, but I can't get to your thoughts."

"Yeah, that could be anything. I don't know how most of this stuff works."

They continued down the hall in silence, just absorbing each other's positivity until Pip left Peter for his fourth floor dorm, and Peter headed to his dorm to finally meet his roommate.
