Hey, this is going to be one of the last few chapters. I figured Loki got a chapter, and I haven't been giving them enough love. P.S: I loved writing this for you guys, and I can't wait to finish this. Specific shout out to th4t0mn1qu33n.

There were three days until Pip's dad was set to meet him, and Quinn was absolutely terrified. They had experienced bad parenting, I mean their mom is literally Mystique, the on and off enemy of the X-Men. Quinn couldn't sleep that night on a count of the number of questions they had for Pip about his father, and why he had been lying to them for so long.

I'm not waiting until the morning! They thought, "Alexander August, you need to talk to me about everything!"

"Dang Quinn," Pip grumbled, "wait an hour, would you."

"No Pip, I will not. You have to tell me everything."

"Dude, I don't even know why he's coming here."

"Yeah, but you know what happened in your past."

"Andi Quinn, you need to stop being so pushy."

"Pip, I told you not to call me that. It makes me feel like trash."

"Yeah, so!"

"Pip..."

"Oh, no... damn it. I am so so sorry Quinn. I'm just so stressed, and I don't know what to do. I... I... I sound just like him."

"No Pip, you said something wrong, that doesn't make you a bad person."

"When does something wrong become everything bad though. I have that potential, and every day I worry about becoming HIM."

He pulled Quinn in for a hug as they tried to console him. "You know why you aren't your father and all of his evil."

"Why?"

"Because... because then I'd be my mother, and I am not her."

"No, no Quinn."

"See, you're fine."

They sat next to each other on the couch for hours, sleeping in each other's embrace. That night Quinn dreamed, which might have been worse than that night's incredibly awkward talk about their past.

They were sitting in a black room with a tiny light on in the very centre of it, like a ghost lamp in a theatre. As Quinn got up to check it out the bulb in the lamp exploded, sending shards of light everywhere for some reason. Each of the three shards illuminated a different point in their life, the past in mystiques gang, the present at the school, and a fuzzy block for the future.

Quinn immediately gravitated to the past block, showcasing their first job to infiltrate the school as a ten year old. As they saw the results it made them want to barf, with Quinn just standing there with professor Xavier lecturing about leadership and free will.

They had a little less of a reaction to the second cube, which was literally just a live feed of Quinn and Pip cuddling on the couch. It was a cause to smile at the idea of them both actually being together physically, and then it just hit them. Quinn was in love with their roommate and their conniving brain knew before they'd even considered it.

Finally there was the future which was possibly the most evil of all of them, and the most distressing. There stood Quinn, carrying the limp body of their roommate to a shadowy figure sitting under a tree.

And then they heard themselves speak, it rang out like a bell. "He's here, I have him."

"Good," the figure whispered beginning to remove their hood when-

BEEEEEEEPPPPPPPP! The sound of an alarm going off in the kitchen had Quinn on their feet and running in a matter of seconds.

"Hey," Pip smiled, "I made bacon."

"Damnit Pip, you scared me. Let me help you."

They finished making breakfast together and ate it in near silence. "So... do you know what you want to do when your dad comes here?" Quinn asked.

"I dunno," he gulped, "maybe we could bake cookies?"

"Okay, I guess he is your father."

"What do you mean by that?"

"I mean if he's your father, I'd bet he loves cookies about as much as you."

"I guess, but what does that have to do with anything?"

"I don't know, I'm freaking out, Peter's almost definitely freaking out, we're all freaking out!"

"Yeah, I know! Do you think I'm all chill about this! This is the man who ABANDONED ME as a baby!"

"At least you have a father!"

"What...?"

"My father was lied to throughout my mother's entire pregnancy, until I was born. And then of course there was his mutant spouse and child. My entire childhood was me, my mother, and her gang of human hating... people!"

"Damn..."

"See Pip! Talk to me! I'll listen, I'll try to get you!"

"Um... thanks... listen, I really appreciate it. You are a truly amazing person."

"Thanks dude."

Fortunately for me, they realized how awkward this was getting and they just kinda started to get prepared for class.

"Should I find Peter?" Pip asked.

"Why? He can take care of himself." Quinn responded.

"He hasn't asked me anything about last night yet. Don't you think that's weird?"

"No, I don't. Maybe he's just waiting to see you in class."

"But-"

"Or maybe he doesn't even have any questions."

"But Quinn, you had so many questions that you were yelling at me at three in the morning."

"Pip, Peter and I aren't the same person."

"I need to check on him anyway. I have this feeling like he needs my help."

"Then go for it. But if everything goes south, don't bother crying to me."

"I won't, but I really think this is a good idea."

"Do you want me to come with you?"

"Maybe..."

"Pip, I can't."

Quinn continued down the hallway with him until the stairs where Pip started to sprint up as I walked down. He is the sweetest friend a person could have. How did I of all people find him, Quinn wondered to themself. By the time they got to class the boys still weren't there, which kind of freaked Quinn out. How are they late? They- Peter is never late.

"Clear the way!" Pip ran through the hallway presumably being chased by something invisible.

Quinn stepped up beside him, "why are you running?"

Pip stopped in his tracks for a split second. "I don't know."
