Shiro walked amongst the large crowd-filled street with heavy raindrops echoing on the pavement. She had her hoodie tucked on her head as she stared at the ground, still biting her lip in complete resentment.
"It could have been avoided. It could have been avoided..." she mumbled to herself exasperatedly.
The bitter feeling was still residing in her gut. Shiro always hated being unable to resolve things when she had the chance. Every time, only when she had a chance, it was wasted. Completely wasted. She hated that.
She clenched something inside her pocket in sheer frustration. After calming down indefinitely, she curiously it took out for it to be the paper with a blue and white flower imprinted on it.
Shiro suddenly remembered "Oh no! I forgot to complete the task. But where is the Sapphire Gardens...?"
Conveniently there was a banner with upcoming events. She skimmed through it to find the Sapphire Gardens. Her hopes were broken instantly when the event was planned for 3 months later.
"And I thought I was blessed with luck for once."
She had to 'take the other way around' to the gardens if she couldn't politely go through the entrance like a normal person.
That night, Shiro sneaked behind a wall and overhead two guards speaking to each other.
"The first one's being rather quiet. He's not spitting out anything. The other one rather spat on my shoe. Pesky thing."
Before Shiro could listen to anything else she saw on the other side, the bright Sapphire Gardens.
She moved carefully towards it before she cringed nervously as a voice spoke up behind her.
"You there. Who are you to be trespassing here?"
She froze in her spot as the security guard held out a gun.
"Put your hands where I can see-"
He was interrupted as Shiro kicked the gun out of his hand before kicking him in the face swiftly and knocking him out.
Shiro took out a book and skimmed a page.
"Self Defense...block attacker's assault by averting their possible weapon....grip their clothing and toss them forward...keep balance...elbow your attacker in the sternum..."
"Well close enough." she retorted as she tucked her book away.
She hopped over a gate into a vast garden which glistened under the moonlight. She sensed a presence in a nearby patch of soil. Shiro grabbed a shovel nearby and began digging up the mysterious object which turned out to be a glass shard. Shiro touched it as a bright luminescence enveloped the area around her. The last thing she heard was,
"Great job on your first operation. No really. Better than mine at least..."
...............................................................................................................
Just to avoid confusion, the paper Shiro took out was not some mission given from the council, she already had it in the first chapter so...yeah.
