Shiro tucked the glass shard into her bag and set off. She carefully tracked back her steps towards the exit gate. However she looked behind the wall to see a huge crowd of guards securing the area. Shiro quickly hid back to her spot, feeling anxiety as well as irritation .
"Since when did they get there?!" she exclaimed.
She took out the small book again and skimmed through to the same page as before. Her mood soon grew more irritant as it read on the very bottom,
"P.S. Dispose of the body ASAP or people will get suspicious."
"Really?" Shiro exasperated. She anxiously glanced back at the guards lined up at the gate too perfectly.
"Why...." Shiro moaned as she almost slumped on the ground.
She suddenly felt a hand grasp her mouth.
"Shh." the mysterious person whispered, as he quickly dragged Shiro into an alleyway, clamping her mouth shut. After some guards rushed past the alley, he released her.
Shiro slightly blushed, staring at the boy's tall stature with his tarnished black hair and sapphire eyes. "I guess this is the part where I say thanks--"
He immediately punted the wall with the sheath of his sword as cracks appeared around the edges. He finished it by releasing an overwhelmingly powerful kick as it disintegrated into rubble. It cleared to reveal a hole.
"Come on." the boy finally spoke.
Shiro exasperated "Where are we-?"
She was interrupted once again as he dragged her with him into the building. They continue to run upstairs until they are stopped by a locked door.
"Dead end, we should turn back--"
He immediately kicked the door with brute force, leaving the broken door on the floor with a massive dent.
"Right...thought so." Shiro retorted.
He once again grabbed Shiro's wrist as she ran with him more naturally. Shiro gasped silently as she heard an eerie creaking noise on the ceiling. All of the sudden, her vision went blurry and slowly reformed, only for her to see colors. Just streaks and patches of colors with a blurry outlook.
"Not again." she muttered, reminiscing other moments of when this happened. Very significant moments...
She focused on her peculiar vision and noticed that there were clear red streaks formed from the ceiling to the floor. The streaks only became more clearer and thicker, like signs of danger...
"WATCH OUT!!!"
She pulled the boy back abruptly as walls suddenly slammed down about an inch away from them. Before they knew it, they were completely encased in walls.
"Thanks." the boy muttered.
"Your welcome, um..." Shiro replied awkwardly, not being received his name yet.
"Storm."
"Pardon?"
"That's my name, Storm."
"Oh, um...it's just that it's a bit vague."
"It's a nickname."
"Oh, of course. Your...real name then?"
"There's a reason why I don't say it to strangers..." he glowered coldly.
