Was It Him?

Chapter: 16

I reached the restaurant and everything was blurry. For some reason,the police was still at the restaurant. I expected them to be gone in two hours ago but they are still here.

I walked in and saw some unfamiliar faces,all of them were policeman. "Oh there she is" a rough male voice exclaimed. I turned around to see one of the policeman was walking towards me; he was quiet familiar to me. "Glad you are here" he greeted me; I replied with a forced smile.

"Everything's okay? Did you found out who it was?" I frowned and crossed my eyebrows waiting for his reply. He scanned the surroundings before shaking his head. "You don't even have any clues?" My voice was kind off loud because I was rather shocked. How come they didn't know who did it? I will never be save if they didn't knew who it was. What if they came again? Maybe this time no one got hurt but-

Oh My.. David!

"Not exactly. The criminals cleaned everything behind them. They literally left nothing. But we are doing our best" The man replied,interrupting my thoughts. I nodded at the information he just informed me.

"Can you keep your work over here? One of my workers got hurt and I need to see him right away." I shove my hands into my pocket to take out my phone just to check the time since I don't really like to wear wristwatchs. "Maybe I could get some informations from him as well. I will be back" He nodded and I rushed to the door exit. I got on my car and started it heading to the hospital. I remember the nurses told me which hospital it was, but unfortunately it wasn't the same as the hospital Mira and Maria were in.

Speaking of which, I have to call Ben and tell him I might be a little late otherwise he would feel worried about me.

I took my phone out of my pocket,again. My eyes were still focused on the road, I don't need any more accidents.

"Hey love" he greeted me with an excitement which is a bit weird. And he also called me love which was also weird; I think our thing is getting serious. Or wait.. is it normal? Him calling me love since we have been spending time or what they call it 'dating' for almost seven months I guess. Wow. That's a long time. We are really going slow..

"Jacqueline?" He called me once again. I could feel he was worried because I haven't realise I was actually quiet for more than one minute. I guess the word love made me over think about it."Oh hey Ben" I took a deep breath and finished "I am now heading to the hospital near the restaurant, it's where the ambulance took David to. I would just give him a visit and then back to the restaurant and then to you. I know long road but-" I wanted to finish and explain but Ben cut me off. "Babe,babe.. you don't have to worry. I will be here with the girls waiting for you. And I have good news they were awaken few minutes ago and they look totally fine. We played and I was reading some stories for them.. everything is fine." He exclaimed the last part and he chuckle as well; well probably he did I could feel it.

I heard the girls' giggles and kind of grinned. I was happy to hear their giggles and laughters,again.

"Are you sure? It's okay?" I parked in the hospital's parking lot and stayed for awhile in the car laying my head to the back and waiting for Ben's reply.

"Yeah yeah everything's great!" he finally replied and I was happy he did. His voice sounded so happy and full of joy. He loves kids,he loves to play with them, tease them but never to make them cry. He loved kids as much as he loved spending time with Mira and Maria. To be honest, who wouldn't? they are like the perfect kids. They listen to my word all the time, apologize whenever they are wrong, the words please and thank you never left their lips.

"Okay great" I sigh as I said those two words and closed my eyes; Ben was still on the line. "Are you okay?" After few seconds of silence he asked. "Yeah, yeah.. totally.. I'm just tired " I opened my eyes and turned off the car. "Okay just finish everything as quick as possible to come here and have some rest" he suggested as I got off of the car and walked towards the hospital.
