"Have a good day lovelies" I leaned forward to place a kiss on their freshly showered hair. "Take care of yourselves at school!"
"Don't worry Lina"
"You say the same everyday""Because I love you guys and I-"
"I don't want you to get hurt." Mira finished my sentence with a sarcastic smile. Kids nowadays, they got no control!
"See you soon, goodbye!" I shouted as they walked to their school hallways, meeting up with their friends.
"Goodbye!" They both looked back and waved goodbye to me. I haven't spend much time with those two lately. I missed how we used to always be together at my small apartment, crumpling in the small bed making jokes and talking about our day. Kids can be annoying and noisy but they can always change your mood in seconds with their laughters and smiles. Kids hate to see adults sad, they always find a way to cheer us up.
I stopped at Starbucks for some mocha coffee with caramel; my favourite. Then I headed to the restaurant. 8:00 am is a bit early but maybe I could spend some time cleaning and rearranging things.
On my way, I opened the radio to my good luck they ere playing one if my favourite songs; Celeste by Ezra Vine. This is a perfect song for beautiful mornings like this. I enjoyed Ezra Vine's voice with my hot beverage. I passed by few shops and restaurants until I reached my second home.
After parking in front of the restaurant, I walked inside to see Samantha sweeping the floor.
"Morning Jacqueline, aren't you a bit early today?" She walked towards me to greet me with her soft voice and a quick kiss on my cheek; I did the same.
"Arent YOU a little bit early today?" I pointed at her as she let out a chuckle. Usually Samantha is the latest to arrive. She likes to wear make up everyday so that takes a long time. Today she is early and she isn't wearing the usual make up. She's only wearing an eyeliner and lipstick. Besides she looks exhausted. Something's not alright. "What happened to you? You look really tired today"
"Nah everything's good" she smiled but her eyes were full of tears.
"Come sit here and talk to me before anyone comes" she started sobbing and walked her to the nearest table. I threw my bag on the table and sat on the chair beside her. "Come on, tell me. I might help"
"I just broke up with my boyfriend" and her tears streamed down her cheeks as soon so those words split out of her lips. I opened my arms for her to rest on and she cried even more. It must been hard for her. " I caught him the other day cheating with my neighbour. After a long term relationship he burned it all just like that." Ouch what a jerk.
"How long?" I asked out of curiosity.
"5 years" I took some tissues to wipe off the tears. 5 years! "We moved in two years ago in an average apartment for both of us. I should have asked him to move away as soon as I noticed how flirty he was with that freaky potato face neighbour. I was blinded with his love I couldn't realise how jerk he is." This is really awkward. I haven't had a best friend since forever! I forgot how to comfort a broken hearted girl.
"So why are you here so early?" Back to the main question.
" I went back home from work last night tired and desperately craving for his comfy cuddles to see him doing chemistry with that rat face on MY BED. So I run out back to my second home and spent the night here cleaning everything" she sighed. I looked around to see how clean the restaurant was.
"Here take my apartment keys and go back to my place and rest for awhile. You can spend the night with me. You need time to think about what all happened." I hope this works. She really looks tired.
