A teen ran through the snowy forest, breathing heavily as the wind whipped at his face and he struggled to carry a girl on his back
"C'mon nezuko! I've got you! Don't die on me! I wont let you, i promise i'll save you!"
Tanjiro tossed a piece of coal into his basket before lifting it up onto his shoulders, grunting as the weight settled
"Tanjiro" a voice called out to him, making him turn to meet his mother, kie, "tanjiro, your face is covered in soot, let me clean you up" kie said, cleaning off the soot on tanjiro's face with a clean rag
"You know you don't have to go right? All this snow could be dangerous" Kei stated, "don't be silly mom, I want us to have a good new years celebration, so I'll sell as much charcoal as I can" Tanjiro replied, messing with his earrings
Kei smiled at this, taking away the rag, "how thoughtful tanjiro. . ."
Soon, two younger kids named, shigeru, and hanako, ran up to tanjiro and kei, smiling at their big brother, "hey big bro! Are you going to town today!?" Shigeru asked, "im coming with you!" Hanako stated
Kei stood up, dusting off her clothes as she said, "no way you two, you can't walk as fast as tanjiro can, and he can't use the cart to carry you" to which the kids whined, "oh come on mom!"
Shigeru then jumped on tanjiro, pouting, "tanjiro! We wanna come with you!" "Yeah, we promise we'll help out!" Hanako said, but tanjiro just smiled and said, "that's kind of you two, but no, you have to stay home for today"
Tanjiro then kneeled down onto.the twos level, saying, "but I promise to bring you guys something on my way back" which made shigeru and hanako smile brightly
As tanjiro stood back up, another boy ran up, Takeo, "ah, takeo, do me a favor would you?" Tanjiro asked, to which takeo nodded, "chop up as much fire wood as you can" tanjiro stated
"I was already going to do that, don't worry" takep replied, tapping the handle of his hatchet, "good, now I have to go everyone, bye!" Tanjiro said as he started to walk away, his siblings and mom waving goodbye to him
As tanjiro went, he stopped as his sister, nezuko walked up to him, a small child named, rokuta, on her back, "hi tanjiro!" Nezuko greeted, smiling, "hey nezuko" tanjiro said back
"I have to put rokuta down for a nap before he throws a fit" nezuko said, turning the sleeping boy towards tanjiro, who gently pat rokuta's head, "haha, hopefully I get back before he wakes up" tanjiro joked, letting nezuko head back
"Haha, yeah, anyways I'll see you when you get back tanjiro"
"Bye nezuko!"
Tanjiro then turned back to the forest, taking in a long breath before heading in, not knowing what was in store for him once he got back. . .
(Sorry this was so late, I wanted to rewatch the anime so I didn't miss anything, I might update later but idk yet)
