{Mia's POV}

It felt like slow motion, the way that Amy was running. Everything went quiet. Then, Amy passed the finish line and it went crazy! Me and my twin brother, Marcus, ran over to Amy to celebrate. Then, I saw a glove appear on Amy's hand; this reminded me of a thought, or dream, I once had.

***************Dream**************
Five objects on a pedestal. A bracelet, a glove, a necklace, a katana and a ring. Five animals were also there, in their habits, or the place you are most likely going to see them. A phoenix and eagle were flying in the air, a white tiger and wolf standing their grounds, and a mermaid, which whom I felt a connection to, was swimming in water. In the air, or on the ground, it didn't matter, she was swimming.

The next thing I knew, I was in a world of darkness, my body next to Marcus' in the real world.

[Marcus' POV}

"Wooooooo!!!! Go Amy!!!"

Mia and I ran over to Amy and congratulated her.
I was talking to her when I noticed that she was wearing a glove. It had a.... no, I silently gasped. It had an element crystal on it.

"Forget!" said a voice in my head.

With that, I fainted. The last thing I remember is that Mia fainted next to me.

When I woke up, my sister and I were in a world where there was a water-based kingdom on one side and a kingdom dedicated to air on the other. Of course, there was a big indestructible glass wall in the middle of us. She was on a throne of water and I was on a throne of wind, or air, which ever. Before I could even try to call out to her, a creature appeared in front of me. This was what I had apparently been training for my whole life. The creature, an eagle, hovered over me.

"Where am I?" I said to it.

"You don't remember me?" The eagle said. He gave a slight laugh.

"Well, I did tell you to forget. My name is Sato, young child, and you and your friends are important to our world."

Another voice came, agreeing with Sato. "Yes, you will save Vermonia."

This creature was a mermaid, and behind the glass I heard my sister yell,

"Topaz! Let me and my brother out!"

{Mia's POV}

I sat on the chair of water, and don't EVER ask me how the hell it's possible. Water just surrounded me and soon enough, I felt something sitting around my neck. I looked down to see my mother's topaz necklace. The gems glinted with a beautiful turquoise color, and I have no clue why it's here, or why it's even on me. My mother said it was a family heirloom, and she would never let me, nor my brother touch it. Then, I felt something swirling around me, and I caught a glimpse of a tail moving around. Then, there it was, in front of me. The most beautiful mermaid I have ever seen (even though I used to think that they weren't real, until now). Her long chestnut hair flowed with the water and her turquoise eyes, that matched my necklace, shone with brightness. Her scales were a bright color of copper. She also reminded me of the mermaid in my dream. The mermaid then spoke up.

"Hello! I'm Topaz!" the mermaid said.

"I'm sorry you had to come here like this." She shot a disgusted glance at the eagle behind the large glass wall.

"But it's for your own good. You, Marcus, Amy, Tyler, and Bryan are all important to our world. Oops, I have to go!"

She spoke with much haste, and left me in this hell of a prison. But I yelled at her anyway.

"Topaz! Let me and my brother out!"
