Chapter 18

I was rudely woken from an.. interesting dream when I saw Ben standing over me, smirking obnoxiously. "Why are you- where's my d- how la- can I have som-"

"I'm keeping watch, your Dad took your brothers and Owen for a bite because he assumed you'd sleep longer and 8.15 pm. Oh, and here's your water."

I looked at him, my face probably showing my surprise. "Oh, uh, thank you, you don't have to-"

Again, I was interrupted. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. Now, on to a more interesting subject: what did you dream about?"

My face reddened in an instant, remembering vividly what I'd just weirdly experienced in my dreams. "Ehm, nothing interesting, just the basic things, like, erm, whales and plankton and stuff." Whales and plankton? Seriously? Why am I this weird?!

"Ahh, I see. And did there happen to be a whale among them named.. just off the top of my head.. Ben?"

"No.. why?"

His smirk grew as he finally got to his point. "You moaned my name when you were sleeping."

I gasped. "No I didn't!"

"Yes you did."

"No I didn't."

"Yes you did."

I tried to trick him. "Yes I did."

"No you didn't. Wait, what?"

Now I was the one smirking.

He looked at me bemusedly. "Try to trick me all you want but it's engrained in my head anyway." He moved his head towards my ear, his breath fanning my cheek and said huskily:

"Don't worry though. It was extremely hot."

A/N

I know it's short: this is the way I'm going to be updating from now on, though, because I've found it works a lot better for me: when I try to make really long chapters I always forget to publish it or I accidentally delete it. I might even update later today.
