Aubrey would be walking down the sidewalk with her fire axe on her shoulder, she would be chewing some gum as well while approaching an old friends house
Aubrey: Fuckin' 'ell it feels so strange to come back here after a long time
She would slowly approach the door and push it open with her fire axe, as she would open the door she would see the house running rampant with overgrown plants and it looked like the plants were intertwined with the very foundation of the house and the house itself, she would cautiously enter the house and look around, Basil's house has certainly changed from what she used to know, as she would look around she would see a woman in a cocoon of sorts, but as she would approach it....... she would see the perfectly preserved body of Polly!
Aubrey: Bloody 'ell that's the doll Polly!
She would consider using her axe to chop away at the cocoon but decided against it since she can accidentally hurt Polly, besides she doesn't want to scare the shit out of Polly and wake her to this horrific world that they both find themselves in, either way she would approach the corridor she would see veins lining the floor, walls and roof and they would all lead towards Basil's original room, she would slowly approach the door and open it, in the center she would see a giant heart encased in plant life, she can see the body of a boy inside of the heart, hugging his knees in the fetal position
Aubrey: Basil you poor bastard, what happened to ya?
She would gently put her hand on the heart, she would look in absolute shock as she would see the boy look at her and place his hand where her hand is, Aubrey would be surprised but extremely happy
Aubrey: B-basil, you're alive?
She would be super shocked, one of her old friends seem to still alive, in cased in the plant like prison, however she would quickly shake her head and pull her fire axe out
Aubrey: Hold on Basil, I'm savin' ya!
She would hack away at the plant like heart, trying to free Basil from his plant like prison, she would continue to hack away before freeing Basil from his prison
Basil would be coughing up a liquid from his mouth and he would surprisingly still have his hospital clothed on, he would be visibly weak and shaking as well
Basil: Wha- what.....
Basil would look up at Aubrey, but before Basil can do anything he would be hugged by Aubrey who would be crying tears of joy into his shoulder
Aubrey: Y-You're okay Basil, you're still human after all these years!
Basil: Wh- what are you talking about Aubrey......... Why do you have a fire axe and- wait is that blood?!
Aubrey: Basil I need you to listen to me alrigh', the worlf isn't like it was before, nothing is normal anymore, for all we know is that we're possib'y the last normal people on this planet
She would throw him some of his clothes
Aubrey: Get dressed, I'll take you back to me safehouse before explaining anything else alright?
Basil: Wh-
Aubrey: don't question it alrigh'? Now get changed
Basil would get changed into different clothes and eventually he would be given some garden shears
Basil: W-wait why are you giving this to me? Don't you hate me for-
Aubrey: Basil jus' trust me alrigh'? Shite out there is fuckin' bonkers, now follow me.
Then after a while they would slowly exit the house and Basil would see the foggy environment, but before they can do anything, Aubrey would freeze in place as she would hear a familiar yet terrifying sound
Basil: A-aubrey, what's that-
Aubrey: Basil, fuckin' run!
They would both bolt away from the noises as they would hear deer hooves chase after them, Aubrey wouldn't let go of Basil's hand as they would both be sprinting away from the creature, eventually they would make it to the safe house safely, Aubrey would pull Basil into the safe house and Aubrey would quickly lock the door
Basil: Aubrey what was that thing?!
Aubrey would shush basil, they would wait several minutes which felt like hours would pass by, eventually the beast would leave them alone as Aubrey would breath a sigh of relief
Aubrey: Basil, you okay? you hurt-
Aubrey would see leaves and vines from plants wrapping around his arm
Basil: I'm fine, now please tell me what's going on!
Aubrey: Alrigh', just take a seat and I'll explain everything to you okay?
