Chap 16

Kiefer.

"Okay ka lang? You can tell me anything, Kif."

Nandito kami sa bridge na hindi ko alam kung saan. But I can see the city lights from here.

"I'm okay, Drake." I leaned on the railings.

"Don't overthink what happened earlier. I know you tried."

Damn. I almost forget that because Atlas keep troubling me! That's right. I should be upset about law school. Not him.

"What if... I like guys pala? What do you think?" My intrusive thoughts won.

Mukhang nag loading siya sa sinabi ko. What if lang naman, eh! Hindi pa sure.

"Whatev-"

"So? Edi you like men. You can like whoever you want," he said as he looked at me.

I slowly nodded and smiled.

"Bakit? Is someone bothering you?"

"I'm still not sure..."

I heard him chuckle. "Don't forget to introduce him to me, okay?"

Nag iwas ako ng tingin. "I-i said I don't know!"

"Mag risk ka na, Kif."

I laughed. "Should I?"

After an hour, inuwi niya rin ako sa condo. It was almost 2 in the morning when we arrived. Antok na antok na ako but the elevator is so slow.

Akala ko ay nagha halucinate na ako nang may makita akong tao na nakaupo sa labas ng pinto ko.

"The fuck?" I whispered.

Wait.

"Atlas?" Kinalabit ko siya.

Unti unti siyang dumilat at tumayo ng makita ako.

"Why are you still here? It's late," I said while opening my door.

Pumasok ako at narinig ko namang sumunod siya.

"I told you i'm coming over. Saan ka galing?"

"Drove around."

"Alone?" he asked.

"With Drake."

Tinanggal ko ang jacket ko at uminom ng tubig. I can still feel him following me.

"Why?"

Why? Wala ka, eh. Edi sana ikaw 'yung kasama ko.

"I was waiting for you. Sana sinabi mo na you'll be late."

"I'm sorry, Kiefer," he sighed.

Hinugasan ko ang basong ginamit ko.

"I'm tired. You can sleep here, anong oras na rin. Use the extra room."

Umakyat ako sa kwarto ko at humiga. Nakatitig lang ako sa kisame habang narinig kong bumukas ang pintuan.

Ayoko siyang makausap. Parang naiinis ako kasi hindi niya ako in-update. I even prepared myself!

Was I looking forward to it too much?

I guess that was my mistake. Should fubus be like this? Or should we have a boundary?

He'll end up breaking my wall, anyway.

Kunwari kong pinikit ang mata ko at nag tulugan. You should get this treatment first. Bahala ka dyan!

Umupo siya sa gilid ko at hinawi ang buhok ko.

"He's so pretty."

"I'm sorry for today. I seriously rejected them because I wanted to see you but they won't let me go."

Sino ba 'yan ng maibagsak na.

I'm trying not to move too much but my heart says otherwise. I think,

I do like him too.

"Goodnight, baby."

Pinatay niya ang ilaw ng kwarto ko at sinara na ang pinto.

Fuck.

I don't know what to feel. But one thing is for sure.

He knows i'm not asleep.

Fuck it.

Tumayo ako at lumabas ng kwarto. I looked at the extra room but he's not here.

He's not here. Umalis siya?

Babalik na sana ako sa kwarto ko nang marinig kong bumukas ang pinto.

"Why are you not asleep?" He asked.

"I took out your trash. I'm also going home, you should sleep-"

I hugged him.

"Kiefer."

"Shh. Let's just stay like this," I said as I tighten my hug.

Niyakap niya ako pabalik at hinalikan ang noo ko.

"What's wrong? Couldn't sleep?"

"Yeah."

I was supposedly be mad at him. But how can I? After he said that, I feel like risking everything.

Good thing i'm calm now. Or else I will definitely tell him that I like him too!

"Were you even asleep at all?" He chuckled.

"No."

"I thought so," kinalas niya ang yakap namin. "So you heard me."

Nag iwas ako ng tingin at tumingin sa orasan.

"We should really sleep. I have a meeting later..."

He smirked. "Okay, sure. Let's sleep?"

He held my hand and I followed him to my room. I made his arms my pillows and hugged him.

"Sleep tight, baby."
