My turn

It's been four years since she left that castle. The very same castle which would become her home in only a few days. All she could think of was the happiest moment and the dullest heartbreak of her life....The day when his lips met hers for the final time, the day when everyone looked at her with betrayal and disgust in their eyes. All she could think of was the last kiss he gave her...the last souvenir he ever gave on her lips.

She still remembers him coming into her room that night at midnight when she was sitting near the foot of her bed. All she could do was cry when she saw everyone she ever cared about, looking at her with disgust and betrayal. Tom came and sat next to her still staring at nothing. Quite frankly he was looking at everything but at the crying girl. When Harley felt the presence of a person next to her, she looked up and saw Tom sitting at the other end of the bed.

"I never betrayed you or anyone else here, I promise you Tom." said the green haired girl with a bitter tone. She felt disgusted that for once in her life after her father she was crying and begging in front of anyone. "You know what darling?" Tom asked while looking at her now.

"I don't believe you, not even a little bit," he said while looking at her with cold, unfeeling eyes. Colder than the first day their eyes had met, colder than when she fought with Tom. "Please trust me Tom," Harley begged the boy but all he did was look at her with those cold, distrusting eyes.

That's when a nightmarish thought she hoped wasn't true finally hit her, "Was that care and affection for me nothing then?" Asked Harley, hoping not to hear what she was fearing the most, but Tom Riddle broke her trust and heart again. Tom chuckled looking at Harley like she was cracking some joke. "Oh, you poor girl. All you had was the knowledge that I wanted; now that I have that, you are of no use to me. So how about you go fucking pack your bags and get lost to your so-called home, because Hogwarts was never yours and never will be your home." Tom said, breaking all of the hopes she had in her heart.

"You look so broken when you cry," Said Tom without realizing he had. "One last kiss Tom, that will be our final goodbye." Replied Harley, completely ignoring the unknown comment made by Tom. The boy with curly black hair said nothing in return, he just moved his face closer to the girl. Harley closed her eyes when she felt his lips on hers. The kiss was not any typical kiss, it was a goodbye. The kiss was long peck, only a few mere seconds of light touch between their lips. Maybe the purest one they both ever had. After which felt like hours Tom disconnected their lips, stood up, and walked out of the room leaving Harley sitting there still looking at the now closed door with a broken expression on her tearful face.

Harley woke up suddenly from a knock on her door. She still had her book which she had been last night in her lap. She stood up from the rocking chair with a groan as it was the 3rd day now she had fallen asleep in that chair. The person outside the door knocked again. "Come in" was Harley's small reply. She had just put book back onto the bookshelf when she felt someone standing behind her. "My Lady, I got a floo call from Severus about their arrival with both of the companions you asked for. They will be here in four days." Said Carina Adamachi with a smooth voice.

"Ask the house elf to get two rooms cleaned for our guests." Harley said in her grainy morning voice.

"As you wish my Lady." Said Carina with a small bow while leaving the room, closing the door begin her. Harley looked out of the window of her room, a small smirk finding its way onto her usually cold expression. "This time I will throw the bait and you will be my prey. Just wait and watch." Said Harley with a hard look in her eyes. Just when she was about to turn away from her window she saw a white owl coming towards her room. The owl came and perched onto Harley's window sill and hooted in a way like she was greeting the lady. "Well hello to you too Luna. Let's see what we have here." Said the girl while removing the letter from the owl's beak.

"Thank you my dear." Harley said while caressing the white owl's head and getting a pleased hoot in return. Harley opened the letter and read it. At first her eyes widened and then she laughed. She put down the letter and then walked towards the small chess table next to her book shelf. She looked at all the chess pieces on the board, all standing in their proper places as if waiting for the game to start. The only piece missing from the white pieces was a king while from the black pieces a queen. Harley picked up a soldier from the black pieces and moved it forward. "Now it's my turn."
