Still shocked by the encounter that just occurred, I decided to walk to the station's library; everyone was leaving the breakfast area also, so it was no big deal. I can't believe that I am going to have to work with HIM though. The anger that coursed through my veins from one interaction with that asshole was already a bad enough sign that this partnership was going to be awful. If there was one thing I couldn't tolerate, it was disrespect, and I was just blatantly disrespected to my face. Trying to push this occurrence from out of my mind, I remembered where I was supposed to be heading; the library. When I joined the Stellaron hunter team, the true reason was to escape the hell that was the underworld. Truly, I don't have a clue about what a Stellaron is, other than the fact that we will be looking for it and taking them into custody. I assume that if I am to stay a permanent member of this team, I should have some knowledge to at least know what we are looking for.
When I finally arrived at the library, I was taken aback by the beautiful sights. The floor was a beautiful and glossy hardwood, which I could see my reflection in. There were tables and bookshelves as far as the eye could see, which were both made of dark cherry wood. All of the desks had blue stained glass vases, filled with purple hyacinths and baby pink roses. The smell wafting off of these flowers lured me into believing I was in a meadow, with peace as far as one could sense. Shaking my head to get out of this daydream, I decided to look around through the books to find what I needed. This should be relatively easy though, as most of the shelves were things such as nonfictional, and educational texts. Only a few out of the vast number of spaces were filled with things to read in your spare time, like romance or fantasy. I might have to return here later, I thought to myself, as I have always been a fan of both of these genres; especially romance. I think this is due to the fact that I've always fantasized about finding that special someone, who would stay by your side no matter what; or it could be that my life before I met Kafka had been riddled with betrayals and lies, even from the people I had trusted the most. Someone who loved you that much could never do something of that sort, right? I pondered.
Finally, I found it! Though I was of course glad that I found what I was looking for, I can't say that I didn't wish that it didn't take as long. I mean an hour looking for a book?! That's quite ridiculous. As I reached up to grab to grab the book, I noticed that this section of the library had not been touched in quite a long time. The glossy finish on all of the shelves that I noticed when I first walked into the library was nowhere to be seen; instead, everything was covered with a thick layer of dark, grey dust. Though I really did not want to dirty my brand new uniform with this filth, I truly had to learn more about the Stellaron. It was a thirst for knowledge, per say. There where a few books that seemed they would assist me with my learning, bit one stuck out to me. It was titled, 'The Eternal Frost of Jarlo-VI'. While the title itself did not say anything specific to the Stellaron, I remember that this morning, Kafka told me that it was the cause of that disaster, so I was hoping that it would have some information on it. Honestly, It's even better that it is specifically about Jarlo-VI, as that is where we will be heading for our mission. The book was on the top shelf, so it was most definitely a struggle to get it down. I'm not considered short, so I was shocked when I had to climb up the shelves to grab it.
I could only originally see what the title was via the spine of the book, which shockingly wasn't dirty. The front of it however, was a completely different story. The dust was so thick that I couldn't even make out what the picture on the front was supposed to be. Once I finally cleaned the cover, I gasped; from this alone, I understood how severe the situation on the planet was. The dust jacket displayed icicles the size of buildings sticking out of the ground around the capital city's walls, making them shine a glowing blueish hue. The sky was painted white by the blizzard that wreaked havoc over the land, and clouded the air to the point where you could barely see. I was completely taken aback; how powerful exactly are these Stellarons?
