Meanwhile
'So how many more meters until we get done.'
'Just a couple more, burn everything in the way. Orders are to clear as many areas as possible,' Distant voices call out, unaware of the fierce gaze of a Na'vi woman watching them with pure contempt.
Atki was on the journey to search for you and Trudy, instead what was once your previous home was now reduced to nothing but ash and fiery embers. She felt relief that your body as well as Trudy wasn't among the dead creatures or burnt metal laying on the ground. After she told you to head to Trudy, she managed to reach the Omaticaya in time, but the chaos of everything made fear enter her body far too much, she had to search for you, which she did. Hence why at this very moment, she was hidden behind some falling tree vines a safe distance from the sky people she was watching.
Perhaps they took you?
Dismissing that thought, Atki tells herself that there isn't any chance that they wouldn't attack. Plus you were smart. There is a positive possibility that you and Trudy are safely hidden somewhere. A grimace makes its way to Atki's face. Trudy wasn't in any shape to run with agility and from the lack of combat skills you had. Immediately Atki shakes her head. The more she thought, the more negative answers entered her mind.
'Please Great Mother, protect them,' Atki whispers softly, making sure to keep herself hidden in the shadows of the greenery.
'Hold on a minute...I'm getting a reading.' Atki notices the sky people stop moving, their guns aiming mindlessly at the trees and flora. Her hiding place. She holds her breath and reaches for her bow that hung proudly over her shoulder. With a silent and expert grab of her loading her bow with a sharp arrow, Atki narrows her eyes. Atki had the intention to follow them, perhaps finding out where they were located. Maybe, they took you and Trudy prisoner or you hid near the direction in which they came from, but it seems as though other plans were at play.
'There, dang critters,' Before Atki can comprehend what is happening, a round of bullets is shot into the trees hitting an angtsìk(hammerhead) causing it to collapse with a thud. Atki can't help but growl in anger at the unneeded violence of the sky people.
'Hey, Sir. Check this out.'
One of the sky people pick up a broken frame that was hidden beneath the ashes. The edges were burnt and on the side was a picture that was protected from the cracked glass. Atki hisses as she lowers her bow but the need to dispose of these sky people burned deeper than the fire that they used to destroy part of the rainforest. She noticed that in the hand of one of the sky people was the handmade frame she made for you, which consisted of sticks and vines even some glass she found in the lab shack to protect the picture. And that picture was of you standing with a proud smile next to your favourite flora.
'What is that thing, Sir?' Atki clenches her jaw at the sound of the disgusted tone from the sky people.
'Doesn't look native...maybe a recom? But the recoms only arrive in a year from now...' Jack whispers with confusion, his eyebrows furrowing as he stares at a picture that consisted of you. You didn't look like the Na'vi they were taught about during their training. Not even the recombinant avatars looked like you.
'We'll take this to Bridgecity, I'm sure the lab guys will have a field trip with this,' With that the sky people walk off, leaving with your picture. Atki can only guess that nothing good will come out of them knowing who you are. With that, she calls for her ikran and rushes to the new base of the Omaticaya.
