Aman,I looked at my phone and sighed for the fifth time.
What's taking him so long? I don't know.
I am so hungry. All the emergency snacks I keep in my room has finished. Well more like my siblings ate all of it.
It's past nine and if I don't put something, anything in my stomach in the next five minute I don't think I'd live.
I did what I have been avoiding.
I put my phone on silent and went to the main house. It's quiet. Unusual.
Like a thief, I tip toed to the back door that leads to the kitchen and saw the lights on.
I peeped through and saw her and Hamida doing whatever it is they were doing.
Hamida received a phone call and went out of the kitchen .
She was on her phone and didn't even notice when I came in.
I took a step or two and she looked up.
"Aman you're-"
Something came over me and I just pulled her to the store and shut the door.
I could literally feel her breath on my face. Are we that close?
"Aman" she whispered.
"Yeah"
"Can you please turn on the light"
"Oh sorry"
I brought out my phone and turned on the flashlight.
"Why are you here?"
"I know I'm not supposed to be here. Fadal isn't back home yet"
"What has fadal got to do with this?"
"He went to the dinner instead of me"
"And he agreed?"
"I talked him into it"
"Aman you know your dad will be furious when he finds out you didn't go"
"I KNOW THAT. But I'm super hungry now and he's not back yet"
She sighed and scratched the side of her face.
"Well-" She started when we heard Hamida's voice.
She made a move to leave but I stopped her.
"What are you doing?"
"I have to leave else She'd start shouting my name more"
"Okay"
She went out and left the door slightly opened.
"What were you doing in the store?"
I hear her ask."I..umm..I was looking for....umm a knife"
"A knife? To do what?"
"Well I wanted to eat these apples so I thought I should cut it "
"Okaaayyyy" she said not fully convinced.
"Anyways, I have to go. I have exams tomorrow "
"I'll just clean this place up and go also"
"Goodnight "
"Night "
I peeped a little and saw her leave.
I was about to step out when my stomach made a sound.
I've really got to eat..
She was clearing the place when I entered.
