( later that night, seven pm. )

Anger.

Pain.

Sadness.

It fuels the mind with tainted memories and takes a hold of one action without thinking of the consequences.

For me, anger had taken complete control of my choices.

I sat up from the bed with sweat dripping off of my body and slid off the bed, completely drenched with sweat.

I glanced down and saw Zade's body curled up with his head pressed against my stomach, mumbling soft words, sweet words.

I slowly shifted off of the bed and replaced my body with a body once Zade's hand reached out, searching for me.

He hugged the pillow tightly and pressed a kiss against the top of it. I chuckled silently and tiptoed around the bedroom.

I pulled the drenched shirt off of my head and dropped it in the basket overfilled with dirty clothes.

I rolled my eyes, and made a mental note to do laundry later.

Zade didn't go into work today, but he did need to be there tomorrow, something about an important meeting and he had to sign some documents.

I don't know, when it came to Zade's business I just shook my head and pretended I had known what the hell he was talking about half of the time.

Opening the dresser I reached for one of Zade's plain black t-shirts that had gone just above my knees.

"Where are you going?" He shifted in the bed and rubbed his face. "Come back to bed."

I slid the shirt over my head and paired it with a clean pair of Zade's shorts and tied it in place with a hair tie to keep it from slipping off of my body.

I walked over to the bed and leaned forwards. "I wanted to cook but you're missing a few ingredients so I'm just going to run to the market."

I lied but he fell for it and leaned back into the bedsheets before pulling them over his head.

He didn't need to know about the documents I had crumbled up and stuffed in my back pocket with my mother's signature on it.

I reached for the keys on the table near his bedside and walked out the bedroom.

( Ten minutes later. )

I slammed the front door shut with rain dripping off of my body from head to toe, creating a pile of water in the middle of the room.

All eyes snapped in my direction from the dinner table and the laughter died down.

"Ellie?" Alec was the first one to speak up. "What are you doing here? In this weather?"

He took in the drenched clothes and the pile on the floor before tightening his lips together.

I pulled the rain coat out of my body and placed it on the hanger in the closet with all peering eyes watching my every moment.

"You know at first, I didn't believe it." I laughed and then pulled out the documents from the jean back pocket.

"Believed what?" Acher spoke with a mouthful of food before pushing his plate of unfinished chicken aside.

It was a shame really, Bruno was the best cook in the house. Coming to second place after me of course.

I walked up to the table and slammed the paper with our mother's signature at the bottom in front of our father with all eyes watching our interaction in silence.
