A few months later....
My eyes fluttered open in the dark.
"Zade." I groaned from the intense, sharp stabbing pain forming in my lower abdomen and moved my hand around my stomach, trying to soothe the pain.
When my hand brushed over the thick, black blankets. My eyes widened in shock from finding the covers completely soaked.
I glanced down.
Shit.
"Zade." I yelled louder with my fingers holding my stomach and shifted off of the bed.
"What's wrong?" Heavy footsteps trailed up the stairs, thumping with each step from Zade's boot and led straight to the bedroom's door.
Zade walked into the bedroom with an empty pot in his hand and I had the urge to roll my eyes until another wave of sharp stabbing pain formed.
My eyes watered. Zade noticed the wince on my face and rushed over to my side within three steps forwards.
"El? Baby?" His worried eyes searched my face.
I shook my head and pointed at the closest door.
"Grab the bag." I felt liquid trickling down my thigh. "It's time." I breathe out, trying to control the violent urge to scream out loud.
Zade cursed underneath his breath and placed his hand on my stomach.
"Are you sure? She's not due until another week. Can't you just." He then paused and mumbled underneath his breath but I heard every word. "
Can't you just hold it in?"
I blinked, once, twice.
"No Zade. I can't physically hold a baby in my stomach that obviously wants to come out now." My voice raised slightly and was filled with irritation at his irrational statement.
Some days he sounded like my brothers, completely dumbfounded by the way babies were born.
You would think having a baby before he would have learned the odds and ins. Clearly that's not the case here.
He walked over to the closet and grabbed the baby's diaper baby and walked back over and wrapped an arm around my waist for support.
After packing up a few extra things—more clothes and a comfortable pair of shoes , we headed out the bedroom door and Zade locked the door behind us.
"Is that everything?" I took one last glance around the hallway, after having to figure out I might not see this place for a few days and nodded my head.
We proceeded down the stairwell with Zade holding my hand, watching my every step and walked out the front door.
I pulled the jacket more tightly across my body and zipped up the hood. Zade walked in front of me and opened the passenger door.
"Zade?" I said once we were sitting in the car with our seatbelt buckled and the heat from the heating vents blaring on us.
"Yes love?"
"I'm never having your baby again."
He smirks, "I'll be the judge of that."
