chapter two: eyes in the shadows

(two: gore, ) They woke up, for a moment sun had forgotten that riverfur had been there, oh right, flea-fur joined me she thought, getting up, she looked around, the grass looked dry enough to assume the rain had stopped hours ago, she sat, looking at riverfur, "wake up flea-fur!" She nudged him, he woke up,and looked at her, she stared at him, his eyes are beautiful, she thought, wait, what am I thinking, he's just a dumb flea-brain she thought angrily, her thoughts broken as riverfur spoke "what me? Fleas? Wow, such a brilliant nickname soft-stuff," he said mockingly, sun looked confused, then looked down, "DID YOU USE MY FUR FOR A NEST YOU CREEP!" She yowled, "maybe" he purred, stretching, "lets hunt, " he said, changing the subject,

After a while they found some prey scent, "I'll hunt, you watch for a patrol, flea-furred creep" she hissed, "alright soft-stuff" he said winking, sun rolled her eyes, crouching, her paws barely touching the ground, her tail slightly raised, and bent, stiff, as to not alert the prey, which was a vole, she slowly crepts forwards, whiskers back, ears pinned, she reached the perfect distance, moving her back paws, getting ready, her front paws slightly forward, she pounced, holding the vole in her paw, claws out, she quickly grabbed it's neck, as she let it go with herpaw, nipping it's neck, blood dripped out, as she put it down to call for riverfur " get over here flea-brain!" She yowled, picking up the vole again, standing there, "aww, still calling me flea-brain?" Riverfur smiled

"Flea-fur!" She hissed, walking away, I hate this tom! He is so annoying! She thought angrily,

After a bit she stopped, she would've stopped earlier but she knew riverfur was following her, but she scented something strange, something familiar, she knew it was what killed her sister, she looked up ahead, seeing eyes in a bush, they had a look of evil to them, her ears pinned in fear, "RUN!" She yowled, turning around, and running as fast as she could, all she could hear was her paws across the ground, she dare not look back, she could smell fear-scent from riverfur behind her, she didnt know where she was going, but she was hopefully getting there without the thing behind her, she was at the gorge, halting to a stop, hoping what was chasing them would fall, yet it didnt, "StarClan! Its Smart!" She hissed under her breath, grabbing riverfur by the scruff before he fell, "Thank StarClan!" He mumbled, "we should get to the bridge!" Sun let go of his scruff, turning as the thing chasing them had turned its attention from the gorge back to them, her eyes widened, "its a-" she was cut off as riverfur shoved her "You Were the one who said to Run!" He Hissed, she sighed, looking to the bridge, "StarClan thats far away!" She said, getting ready to run, "Alright!" She said, Running, closer and closer to the bridge, she saw twolegs "perfect" she pushed harder off that ground, her legs extending further, she halted to a stop as she neared the twolegs, she was out of breath, she waited for riverfur, "RUN FASTER!" She yowled, finally riverfur had arrived to the bridge, "StarClan, how did you know it would stop near the twolegs. " riverfur sat down, "its a wolf, they hate twolegs, twolegs hunt them, for fun, tch, not even prey, and if there's one, there's more," sun said, angrily, "we should go across the bridge now, those twolegs noticed us," she said, walking on the bridge,

She noticed riverfur staring at her, "what?" She hissed, "i think your starting to like me~" he purred, suns ears pinned, "dont flatter yourself, you're only here until i prove that we never hurt anycat," she sighed, realizing that they were at the end of the bridge, she sat under a bush, stretching, she caught the scent of a- no two, cats, she turned around,
A siamese and a calico, the siamese icepelt, medicine cat of stream-clan and her apprentice willowpaw, she sat, "hello" sun dipped her head, "has willowpaw turned full medicine cat yet, wait, ohhh," sun sighed "the wolf got a cat from your clan while you were out and you were blamed," icepelt looked confused, " how did you? And are you sure about the wolf?", " We were blamed for the same thing, and yes, it chased us," icepelt stared, "oh, maybe we could form our own disbanded clan"

Sun purred, "now that's an idea-" she was cut off by riverfur "and I would be deputy!" He boasted, "never! Not until I've been dead for five moons!"  She stared at him, his eyes are still beautiful, maybe he's right, maybe I am falling for him, but- why? She sighed, "well, until we have more members, I will have no deputy, and i will be sunstar! I just need to go to the moonstone, Care to guide me o' graceful deputy." " oh haha- I thought-" he was cut off, "come on" she rolled her eyes, "We can guide you across the gorge, too much walking with the bridge, ", "alright"

Why am I falling for him? He's just a dumb tom! I thought i liked she-cats, guess I like both- I hate him but I love him! Gah! I love his purr, his silly jokes, his eyes, his sarcasm, starclan! I didn't even mind when he used my fur as a nest! He's kind as well! I'm so stupid! Her thoughts were broken by icepelt "okay, we're here! There's some stepping stones, don't worry, the gorge isn't that deep, we can walk most of it," sun sighed, the water was cold, but soothing, "lets wash off our scent, we should have our own scent," icepelt and willowpaw nodded, but riverfur looked at her, "oh, of course o' holy one~" then sat cleaning himself, still staring at her,  i wonder what he's thinking, I wonder if he's thinking about me, no! Stop thinking about him! Her ears reddened, she dipped her head underwater to hide it,

RIVERPELTS POV

He watched, seeing suns dipping her head underwater, hmm, she hasn't called me flea-fur for awhile, kinda miss it. C'mon pay attention to me- NOOO riverfur, get your head in the game, she obviously hates me, hmm, perfect idea, he jumped, water splashing on to sun,

SUNS POV

Water splashed her back, she turned around, "very graceful!"
