A week passed, we had all graduated, full adults now. We skipped a party for the first time ever and immediately threw our bags in Sarah's Jeep, filled up the gas tank, and drove over 2000 kilometres to Lake Marsha. They all laughed at me making a road trip mixtape at first, but I'm sure they're glad I made it now.
We got onto highway thirteen and to get to the lake house, we had to go off on a thin, rigid gravel road for about eighteen kilometres. The mixtape was over long before this though, it was weirdly quiet a majority of the ride. Especially on that gravel road, Natalie rolled down her window to enjoy the twilight breeze, but we all soon realised there was no noise from the tires dragging on the small rocks. At all. There was wind blowing in her hair, and dust forming under the screeching tires. But no noise.
We finally saw the lake, and we turned right, and there was the exquisite house we would all be in for the next few months, well for some of us, a week or two. Everyone started yelling with joy and near tears with happiness. But the road was still dead silent. Sarah parked crooked so it's good no one else was driving their car.
We brought our bags to our designated rooms that we chose, of course Natalie immediately claimed the master room. We switched our graduation gowns to our skimpy bikinis right away, grabbed towels, some beers, and raced down to the crystal like water. The night time was always beautiful there, like a candle glowing gloriously on a dark cold night.
