THE FINAL EPILOGUE - Only A Dream

EVERYTHING IS JUST A DREAM..
A DREAM THAT I THOUGHT IT WAS REAL,
A DREAM THAT YOU ONLY EXIST.

Beomgyu woke up in a deep sleep. He looked around and noticed an unfamiliar place that he had never seen before. He felt like he was in a hospital room, he didn't see anyone there so he thought that it may be only a dream.

He looked at his right side where he saw a machine beeping and he looked at his left side where there was a dextrose attached to his hands.

Am I dreaming?. Beomgyu thought as he examined the whole room. He decided to stand up and walked towards the window and looked outside. When he opened the window, he was dazzled by the light coming from the sun. As the heat and the light touched his skin, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

The door suddenly opened caughting Beomgyu's attention. He looked at the person who was standing at the door looking at him completely shocked. It was his mom. But what is his mom doing there? Where is his father? Where is his aunt? Where is Beom Young, Yeonjun and his friends?

"What are you doing here?" Beomgyu asked his mom, frowning.

His mom rushed towards him and hugged him tightly. "You're awake," she said smiling.

"What do you mean that I'm awake? What am I doing in this hospital room?" He asked in confusion.

He hates his mother so much, you know that right? But why is she hugging him? Why is she here?

"Don't you remember?" she asked, staring at his eyes while tears started to form.

He frowned. "What do you mean by I don't remember?"

“You've attempted suicide and went I sent you here you were almost dead due to blood lost. Tell me, why did you do that?” Tears fell to her cheeks as she asked that question.

Beomgyu laughed sarcastically. “Why did I do that?” he laughed again. He was about to speak again when he realized something. He looked at his mother with his eyes widened. “What do you mean i am almost dead? I thought I only suffered from severe blood loss?”

Hyeri was confused. “W-what do you mean by severe blood loss? You almost lost your blood” she replied, stuttering.

Beomgyu placed both of his hands through his hair, his heart was beating fast and he started to feel dizzy.

“Beomgyu” She hold Beomgyu and looked at him worriedly. “Are you ok?” She asked and she scanned him.

Beomgyu pushed her away and laughed. “You're joking aren't you? I won't be fooled to your dirty lies again”

She frowned worriedly. “Are you really ok? What's wrong? What happened to you?”

“Tell me where is Dad, Beom Young and Aunt. I need them right now” He ordered as he walked away.

“Y-you're dad? Beom Young? Who are those people?” her mother asked.

Beomgyu frowned at her. “What now, playing dumb old lady? Where are those people!” He yelled.

“I-I'm sorry, I don't know who they are” She replied.

“What do you mean you don't know who they are? You don't know my father? Your sister? My twin?” He asked, irritated.

“I know them,” She replied. “But I don't know who is Beom Young you are talking about.” she laughed nervously.

“What do you mean you don't know Beom Young? You met her ago. When your new husband attempted to murder me!” He yelled.

“I don't know what you're talking about Beomgyu. You knew that your step-dad and I broke up a month ago, you don't remember that? You've been in coma for almost a month before you attempted suicide. You saw how we divorced each other” She explained.

Beomgyu became more confused. He was about to talk again when the doctor suddenly came in.

“Oh.. I'm glad you are now awake Mr. Choi. It's also been a month since you've gone into a coma. Did you have a good dream while you're in a deep sleep?” The doctor asked, smiling at him.

“Coma.. Deep sleep..” He whispered.

“Yes, you've been sleeping for many days. We thought that you won't be able to wake up again” He said worriedly checking on him.

So everything I have experienced was only a dream?. Beomgyu thought as he stared blankly through the wall.

“What is the date today?” He asked all of the sudden.

“It's May 15 and you've attempted your suicide on April 22” The doctor replied.

Beomgyu was stunned, he only remembers that he was only asleep for 1 week and didn't remember sleeping for almost a month. They must be joking.

“If you thought that this is a joke or whatever comes into your mind. It is not” The doctor said while continuing to check him. “All the people you remember were only in your dream. Maybe they have connections to you in your past life”

He remained silent and still speechless. He thought that he was already getting happy memories but it was just all a dream. He starts to remember now what happened to him and remembers his step-father and mom getting divorced. It was really a dream because his mother and step-father didn't divorce there.

“Did you get it now?” She asked and caress Beomgyu's hair.

Beomgyu just nodded as he slowly started recovering his memories, but he didn't think that those people who made him happy in his dream didn't exist. In fact, he keeps the memories in those dreams in his heart and is very thankful that he became happy at least in his dreams.

Beomgyu was getting himself ready before he went back again to school. He walked down and saw his mother cooking breakfast.

“Hey, good morning. Eat up” She said, giving him a fully warm hearted smile.

He sat down on the chair and ate. As he keeps eating, he suddenly remembers someone from his dream that he met before. It was I.N. He swallowed his food and asked his mother.

“Do you remember Jeongin?” he asked.

She looked at him and nodded. “Yeah, the boy who always bothers you and forces you to be friends with him?”

He giggled. “Yeah.. Where is he now?”

“I know he was studying away from him, same as Yuna,” she replied.

Beomgyu was thankful that they existed, not only in his dream but in reality.

“Where did you ask though?” She asked.

“I just remembered him being part of my dreams” he replied.

“Ohh.. That's nice, you must be glad that he not only existed in your dream but also existed in reality” She said smiling.

“Yeah” he agreed.

A smile escaped from his lips as he remembered some part of his dreams. It was unforgettable for him even though it feels like it really happens in reality. For now, he needs to focus on the future and the past will be the lesson. He's glad that his mom wasn't like on his dream. He was now ready to face new challenges again, challenges that will leave him a lesson.
