Chapter 42

Ally's PoV

(Just after Evie and Stefan left)

"What's wrong" I ask looking around seeing everyone's somber mood.

"I think it's best of we talk in private let's go to talk in the library" Matteo says. We walk to the library fast cause I'm curious on what's going on.

"Go sit on the couch" I say. We make our way to the couch in the middle of the room.

"So what's so bad that you need to come talk in here" I ask.

"There's no easy way to say this but Evie's got cancer" he quickly blurts out.

"What" I say maybe I didn't hear him right.

"Evie's got lung cancer" he says once again in a broken voice.

"No no no no she can't she's healthy i can't lose her" I say in disbelief with a few tears coming out my eyes. No she can't have this I need her.

"How long" I ask hoping he will get it.

"Well it depends on treatment which i think is best if we discuss with the both of you I've told the boys the news there still sinking it in but have not told them the treatment as I think it would be best to make a decision just you me, Evie and Stefan." He says but I'm not really listening.

"Who gets to decide" I croak out.

"Well Evie gets to tell us which one she would prefer but you get final say as your her legal guardian" he says.

"Come here brother" Matteo says standing up with open arms. I get up and hug him tightly imagining it's Evie. I don't usually hug my brothers so this is weird.

"Come on when we tell her you need to be strong, she seeks comfort in you the most and looks up to you as a father figure so be there for her ok, and we have no idea how she will react to the news" he says.

"She can be angry, pissed or dismissive and emotionless or she can do what she dorks best and run but best case scenario she's sad because it's good for the body when you relive your emotions." He continues. By know I'm over the shock and ready to be there for her and help her through the hole thing.

"Now let's go downstairs she might be back" he says walking out the door. I follow behind and walk downstairs to see her laughing with all her brothers and cousins.

"Alllllyyyyyy" Evie says coming up to me and engulfing me in a hug with her arms going round my hips. I quickly pick her up needing a hug from her and squeeze the living day light out of her scared she will disappear.

"Evie we need to talk about something important do you want to go to my room or yours"I say softly.

"I guess yours what's going on" she asks with a puzzled expression on her face as Stefan.

"Well Matteo and Stefan need to talk then they will be up in a bit but for now me and you just need to have a little chat" I say carrying her upstairs to my room. I open my door and sit her down on the bed that's overlooking the busy city that's now full of lights and a night sky.

"So Evie" I say grabbing her hands gently.

"Matteo got the blood results back and it turns out you have lung cancer" i blur out. Shot I wasn't meant to say it like that so quickly.

"What" evie says getting up from the bed in shock.

"No no no no I don't want this life was just getting good I don't want this I don't want to die anymore why why I'm a good person I've only killed bad people and I don't hurt innocent ones, I'm smart and only has sex willing once I don't deserve this" Evie says pacing around the room grabbing her hair almost ripping it out. I get up from the bed and stand in front of her grabbing her hands from her head.
