Annabeth had pulled Perry back by the hood, her mouth next th to his ear. Percy's eyes darting back and forth. left and right nervously

"Uhh..err..I.." Percy trailed off not knowing what to say. Annabeth let go of Percy and moved back, crossing her arms.

Up until then, to someone who didn't know them, it would've looked like Annabeth was the dominant and Percy was submissive, but that was not the case or reality.

When Annabeth then laughed at him, "You won't be laughing after this." he muttered to himself.

At that time, Mark had started talking.

"Are you seriously that weak Percy." He spat out Percy's name. "Submitting to your "girlfriend' like that?" He asked cockily, but Percy couldn't care less. He. just gave Mark an unimpressed look.

But Annabeth was getting more irritated by each word that came out of Mark's mouth. She was glaring daggers at his head while all Percy said. was "Mhm?" The thought of his own previous sentence completely forgotten. But Mark continued. "Scared Percy?" He mocked, laughing after.

"Come on Annabeth. Let's get to class." Percy said, his voice steely and stern as he turned to walk away. But Annabeth couldn't just walk away like that. Just because Percy let this guy go as if he didn't just insult her boyfriend doesn't mean she will. Because she knew why Percy acted like that, like he was scared of her. That Seaweed Brain - her Seaweed Brain - was too nice and had too little ego to let his friends feel down.

Any friend of his who played with him like that, he would entertain. We all know how powerful he really is and she knew that firsthand. And she, for one wasn't going to let Mark get away with this.
