My Girlfriend Is Also My Mother

The last bell of the day rang, saying ninth period was officially over. Everyone got out of the classroom like those kids did at the beginning of the 2nd High School Musical movie. Just kidding. That would have been ridiculous. Evan did a fist pump before looking back at Miranda as he jogged out the door with James. He slowed down a little before grinding to a halt.

Miranda was just sitting there, not bothering to get up. Evan looked closer. She was sort of sprawled out on her desk. It was then he realized she was asleep. How had he not seen it before? A slow smile spread across his face.

He could not believe she fell asleep during study hall. He also couldn't believe she had gotten away with it. Not many teachers let things like that slide. It must've been because it was her first day here.

James stopped and looked where Evan's eyes were trained. "Oh great now you're watching her sleep! Stalker much?" He winked at his best friend.

Of course James was only joking. He knew his best friend like the back of his hand. He liked his girlfriend very much and was not fixing to stalk Miranda Realms on account that he didn't stalk people and he wouldn't choose Miranda over Sylvia, his girlfriend.

Evan shrugged. "No, but I know who she's crushing on," he slipped in slyly. James of course wouldn't get that it was him, but Evan just liked the satisfaction of knowing more about the new girl than James did.

In this day and age, James always got the girls. In the past, it had always been Evan on account of him being single, but now James seemed to have an irresistible charm. He wouldn't cheat on his girlfriend either, but sometimes, Evan thought it unfair that they both had girlfriends yet other girls were more interested in James. Probably because Evan's past was not too appealing.

"So she's your best friend now? What happened to me?! Oh I get it. You're going for that best friend romance thing," James joked.

"Oh god no. I'm happy with Sylver." Mentally though, Evan couldn't help but think of what it would be like if he was single again. Maybe he was just happy with Sylvia because he was forced to be happy.

Thinking back at it now, Evan couldn't remember the last time he was happy with his girlfriend. Sure, they had been on a few dates, and while those dates were fun, their relationship hadn't progressed for about a month now. Maybe it was time to try something new out.

Evan shook his head discreetly. He needed to stop thinking these thoughts right away. They weren't doing him any good. He did like his girlfriend. Their relationship was just at a little bump.

James shot his best friend a knowing look. "Having second thoughts?"

Evan shook his head. "Nah of course not. I got my babe Sylver. Too many girls would be too hard to.. keep a leash on, ya know? But I am curious about something." Maybe if I get the information she wants...
