"Hey girl, wake up."

Miranda's head slowly rose from her desk, and she made a confused face as she saw an almost empty cafeteria around her. What was going on? It took a few seconds for her to realize that the bell had already rung and class was now over. Pretty much everyone was already gone. They had all left.

She jumped from her chair. Wow, not even Evan had bothered to wake her. Wait, had she expected him to? They really weren't friends. She had just used him for information, which hadn't worked out at all anyway. Still, it would have been nice of him to at least tap her on the shoulder or something. They had talked for about a few minutes. It wouldn't have been awkward... Okay maybe a little. After he had touched her butt, Miranda wasn't so sure she could act so buddy-buddy with him anymore.

Miranda looked over at the teacher who had nudged her awake and gave an apologetic smile. "I'm so sorry for falling asleep. I had a rough day at home yesterday and didn't get much sleep. Divorced parents are the worst."

Miranda knew the teacher would fall right for her pity card. Every adult always did. Yes, her parents were divorced, but it had been a while now since that had happened. It honestly didn't affect her like people believed it did.

The teacher's features softened and she gave a reassuring smile. "Oh honey, I'm so sorry. I'll let it slide this time, but please try getting some rest tonight. If I let you sleep, then everyone else can too or else it wouldn't be fair to the other students."

Miranda nodded to show she understand. "Yes ma'am. My name is Miranda Realms by the way. I'm the new girl."

"Of course! Miranda. Welcome to Beaufort Crest High. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Good bye. Have a nice day!"

With that, she stepped out of the cafeteria and headed towards the front of the school. As she walked, she looked at one of the hall clocks. To her luck, only a few minutes had gone by since school ended so it wasn't that bad.

Walking out the front doors, she took a few more steps to get to the parking lot before finally arriving at her car. Her gorgeous car. Her gorgeous new car. She loved her car. His name was Georgie and he was a Toyota SUV. The best kind. No one knew Georgie's name though, save for her family.

Leaning against her car with his arms crossed was a boy. He had straight, short, light brown hair, which was about two shades darker than his tan skin. His eyes were the same color as Miranda's and she smirked when she saw him. He gave her a playful grin in return.

"Wow, first day of school and you're already late to the car. Did you get held back after class?"

Miranda rolled her eyes at her younger brother. "Shut up Dominik. I fell asleep, okay? Mrs. Soldevila woke me up a little late is all."

"No, she didn't wake you up late. She probably started as soon as the bell rang, but you're just a damn heavy sleeper."

"One day, I'm going to murder you."

"Not before I murder your precious little Georgie first," Dominik taunted.

Miranda's eyes narrowed into slits. "You touch Georgie and I don't care if you're already dead. I'll bring you back from the dead just to murder you again."

"Wow, you're brutal."

"Yeah well don't insult my car then."

The two siblings both stepped into the car, Miranda at the wheel. She placed her key into the slot excitedly and turned it to start the car. Georgie began to roar and she danced in her seat excitedly.
