AWAKENED HEART (The first heartbeat)

CHAPTER 28

After their quite dinner Zhan stood up and was about to go to his bedroom when Yibo called him to ask him for a talk in his study. Zhan turned around to hear what he wanted to say after calling his name, but the maid came in and wanted to speak to him. She had a message to give Yibo and he turned his head around to look at her  and when he turned his head back at Zhan...he was gone. He went upstairs and Yibo was so confused at that because it made him think that Zhan was angry at him. Nothing came to mind as in why he was angry because he thought they had talked about then earlier and that everything was cleared.

"Sir...Barry and the others went out this afternoon and said I should tell you that they will come back before you go to bed. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner, I was just too busy with the chores. "

"Did they tell you where they were going...?"

"No sir...but it looked serious and they were in a hurry."

"Ok...thank you...Uhm...did you clean my room..? There was Uhm...in the laundry basket...I put my bedsheets in there that needed to be washed...did you Uhm..."

"Yes sir...I even finished ironing it and packet everything in the sheet cardboards."

"Oh...Uhm...I'm sorry you had to do that. I wanted to wash it but...I–"

"It's ok sir...I understand perfectly well. No need for you to explain. I have a son who is...Uhm...yeah so I know cause I used to wash his sheets too and I would find them like that sometimes. No need to apologize for who you are sir."

"Uhm...thank you."

The maid just smiled and left the room to finish her chores for the day. She was a bit old, maybe in her fifties and she sounded like she got a hint that Yibo and Zhan were an item. But it wasn't a bad thing since Yibo wasn't trying to hide it, atleast not for people living in his house. He turned back and headed upstairs where he found Zhan already in bed. He went to the bathroom and brushed his teeth before coming back to bed. Zhan had his back turned to Yibo's side of the bed and Yibo couldn't see if he was asleep or not, so he just spoke what he felt and kissed Zhan's head and laid back so sleep even though he couldn't close his eyes.

"Zhan gē...I wanted to ask you if you were maybe upset at me, I guess I will have to ask you tomorrow since you're sleeping. I'm sorry if I did upset you and I hope you can forgive me cause whatever it is...I didn't do it in purpose. I love you... goodnight "

After that kiss...Zhan closed his eyes and let his emotions take over him. He smiled painfully and a tear fell down his pillow and dissapear without leaving any trace in the silk bedding. It was the first time someone had ever done something like that for him except for his parents. They had also stopped when he was thirteen since they had to work night shifts sometimes and leave him all by himself until he burned his hand while trying to cook some noodles for dinner. His mother quit her job and decided to become a housewife and take care of her husband and son. But even then...the goodnight kisses became less and less until they someday...were gone.

It's nit like they didn't like him, he was just a teenager who was in his adolescent stage and he admitted he was a handful sometimes where he would be grounded not to leave his room and his games and laptop taken away from him. He was bitter when that would happen just like any teenager would, that made him and his parents move apart from each other a little because they had to time for talk about things. When he began to sing at school, it was like he had doing his purpose and he fell inlove with music and he would open up more to his parents and talk to them about building a career in singing. His father didn't appreciate that but made adjustments. He told him he could sing but he had to find what he would do apart from singing and study hard, and that the day he brings home degree he would let him sing.
