AWAKENED HEART (The first heartbeat)

CHAPTER 36

Uncle went to interrogate Su Yao, his personal bodyguard and it was fortunate enough that Chen had helped me greatly with him. When uncle asked him why he did what he did he couldn't speak. Infact...he had a rather unknown look on his face, which uncle mistook it for trying to ignore him, little did he know that the effects of the poison were at work. A splitting headache, dizziness, mild confusion, abdominal cramping, nausea, and vomiting...all those were the effects on cyanide poisoning and he wasn't even able to tell uncle that I was the one who did it. A foam came out of his mouth and he was gone after a few minutes. Chen had told me that the poison took effect a little after thirty minutes and it was about time it started working before it killed him thirty minutes later. I was very happy with the results that I didn't mind helping Chen rescue his friends.

That night...uncle ordered for Su Yao to be taken to be cremated and his ashes scattered into the river as he considered that the most respectful way of sending a friend off. After it was done...he looked for his second in command bodyguard, but he was nowhere to be seen. He concluded that Su Yao worked together with the one that had dissapeared but little did he know that he was laying frozen in a freezer after been put in there two days ago. I made a mental note to take him out of the freezer and take him somewhere before we tried to contact Chen's people to come take his friends. He paged someone and we left.

I could see that Chen didn't want you leave them there but he had no choice or uncle would have started suspecting something and we had no choice but to leave.

Chen had already earned the trust uncle needed and as my boyfriend, uncle didn't care much as he was so exited 'fixing' his pretty boy. He asked Chen to be his personal guard when I had to step in and refuse. I knew the things uncle's bodyguards did and I didn't want Chen to do that. Besides...why did uncle think I would trust him with Chen when he knew what he did to me. Didn't he think I would think what he wanted to do...?

It was later when he told me who he was that I realised that he was never mine, I was dreaming the whole time he was here. He was never mine, he was never mine.....if only I had prepared myself sooner. I wasn't mad at him even when he told me his name, only his name and no last name or anything. I realised that he was the kind of man who goes around performing good deeds to everyone he met. You know...in my life, I have been through a lot, I have cried a lot because of how painful and pitiful my life was. But you know...the day Chen said goodbye was the hardest and most painful of them all. It tooke a while after he left for me to actually learn to appreciate him and learn to live without him. I started to become grateful that atleast he was here with me when I needed someone the most to comfort me.

At least I can look back and say...I had a boyfriend, his name was Chen...and he was the most good looking and most good hearted person to have ever come to my life. I'm grateful that he gave me a Momento, and I will never ever forget that night he laid me down and made me his. I can still feel his hand all over my body even this instant. I'm sorry I slept with your Baba, but at the time...he was my Chen, I hope you understand.

"Did you hear that..? Did you guys hear that...?"

Zhan burst out shouting after the recording ended and he had on the look of excitement while pointing on the phone. Everyone was looking at him, wondering way they had missed all this while they were listening. Even Yibo turned to his side to face him and he was as shocked to see Zhan react that way. The anticipation grew as they waited or Zhan to say what they might have actually missed.
Then he spoke, seeing that they did not understand what he meant.

"Baba gē...did you tell Lar gē what had actually had happened between you and that Alex guy..?"

"Yes... what's more to tell, I already explained to you all what I did."
