"Here's your schedule, pick up a campus map, just in case you need it for directions. It would be appropriate if you first get your uniform before attending the classes," the office lady smiled as she helped me with the basic stuff.

"Where do I pick my uniform?" I inquired a little sheepishly.

"Head to block C, building opposite block B, which is the cafeteria. That is where the tailor, infirmary, counselor, psychiatrist, gym, greenhouse, music studio, exam department, detention room, and a lot of other facilities are," she inhaled deeply and eagerly as she had gotten out of breath while sharing that information. And the smile she provided by the end of it, left me speechless.

All I could was form an 'o' with my lips and nod in reply. The expectations on her face said otherwise. I don't know what she was expecting me to say, anyway, I ended up awkwardly clearing my throat and saying, "Thank you."

That seemed to have made her happier than my expectations. Well, at least that was alright.

I headed out of the room and took a look at the map that I had picked.

Block A was the main building where most of the classrooms, offices, library, and all were present. This was one of the biggest blocks according to the map, then the cafeteria block was block B as the cheerful office lady said. Block C was opposite it, where I had to go. Block D was the dormitories, the biggest of all the buildings. Then there were a few blocks outside this gigantic connected castle, one of them was a block E, which was supposed to be the auditorium. And a cluster of smaller dwellings marked as block F that were supposed to be staff quarters. More markings were present that had finer print which I needed to sit and go through during my free hours.

I followed the route to go toward the room that was marked as a tailor.

The damned guy took quite some time to find the room. And when I did, the door was locked.

I knocked on the door multiple times but received no response.

Do I wait here for him? But if I did, I would be late for the class.

Weighing down my options, I decided to head to my first class. After all, I needed to search for the classroom too...

The bell went off right when I entered the room. I had barely managed to make it in time.

The teacher was sitting at her table and reading some chemistry books.

As soon as the bell went off, she closed it and looked around the classroom. The students had settled down while I stood in the front, still searching for an empty seat.

And it so did not help to see the entire class in uniform while only I did not have one.

"Hello, you must be a new student," the teacher's voice grabbed my attention making me turn over to see who she was talking to.

It happened to be me...

What exactly was I expecting? I mentally facepalmed.

Not to be rude, I turned around and politely replied, "Yeah, I am Evera Davis,  new here."

The teacher's eyes fell on my red tag but nothing about her demeanor changed as she introduced herself, "Welcome to biology class, Evera. I am Jean Thomas. I think you might have missed the memo about how seriously we take the uniforms here. That's one of the things that absolutely cannot be overlooked. So, I request you to go get your uniform and then attend the class."

"I had been there for uniform but the room where the tailor was supposed to be, was locked," I justified.

She looked at me for a second then behind me at someone before calling out, "Mr. Contarinis."
